Luminary Issue 35 : WONDER

Curated colours for the long term future - inspired by the WONDER of the world around us.

Image of the roses that grow in the church yard opposite my house each summer.

Key Colour:
LC-1249 Periana peach

Named after the village of Periana in Southern Spain, famous for their peaches. The fleeting beauty of summer blossoms, peaches and apricots. As the sun sets, colours transform into blood orange and nasturtium.

"I grigi argentati contengono numerosi e diversi cenni di colore, dal bagliore dello smalto al legno stagionato, all'ardesia, alla selce, alle piastrelle. .... I grigi sono intramontabili, eleganti, classici e duraturi." [Anna Starmer]
I colori UnoPerVolta nella prima fotografia:

A perfect palette for a hot summer day by Luminary Studio.

Hand mixed paints and hand painted props bring to life a palette of colors that are soft, chalky, matte yet fresh. Soft petal pinkish lilac and shrimp paste are elevated with clean citrus pops of lemon ice, and lettuce leaf.

Last chance to RSVP to our live webinar, Joyful Colour, on June 25th at 1 PM EDT!

A rare look inside the world of Luminary Colour with founder and global colour forecaster, Anna Starmer.

Anna will clarify the Key Colour Confirmation for 2027 and beyond. In Issue 33: DEVOTION, colour stories are gathered on travels; crafting palettes inspired by the colours of the Mediterranean Sea in Hydra, to the flower markets of India. Anna reveals how these stories are evolving into the must-have future colours for global design teams.

From colour “chromophobia” toward a shift in JOYFUL, emotionally resonant colours that foster human connection in an increasingly complex world. Anna defines how Luminary transforms their research into the key future colour stories; helping brands create deeper emotional relevance, uncover new meanings in materials, and harness colour as a powerful strategic design tool.

“The future of design is not fast paced it is ceremonial; we desire a human-touch, emotional connection, analogue experience and sensorial pleasures. From everyday rituals to a revival in folklore – these themes weave meaning into the ways that we think and feel about colour.“

🌸 Rooted in Colour 🌸

Our first guest speaker of #cdw2026 was Anna Starmer, who delivered a vibrant and inspiring talk on the Future of Colour.

Her collaborative work as @luminary_colour with @camirafabrics has seen the development of the Colour Manifesto, a beautiful body of work available to view on our website.

Thank you once again to Anna @luminary_colour for this radiant, engaging talk.
