Loving that the trusty colander is better than an iPhone.
Thought I was going to miss it!

Everyone was sharing their glasses so we could all see its magic, kids & big kids ;) had made cereal box viewers.

The hike in, to the swim, in the sun ~ to the surf kinda spots are the best of the best.

So much more special, so much more vivid and so worth the intrepid entry with boards, wetsuits & birks.

Girls & boards. The best weekends. The best company. And the next one already booked.

You can take the girl away from the sea, but the sea will always come and find her. 🌊

I’ve always felt like my silver Paloma Picasso fish, I found in a vintage shop in Rome when I first arrived circa 2009, has been keeping me company all these years.

A totem of sorts. She keeps guiding me back towards the ocean. When I need it most. Proud of my body!

Whisk’ at the ready.

This Easter I ventured to Dorset & Wiltshire to spend some time with pals & when I asked if I could help in any way - seeing as they invited me to their Easter Sunday!

I was swiftly gifted the task of making 2 batch’s of pâte sucrée pastry. 1 GF & one G batch & then to follow ~ 2 lemon tarts. 🍋

Luckily I always travel.. don’t laugh! With my whisk - #1 hand luggage item. Without question!
So when my pals aunt called in with a box of all the bits I set forth! It was a little bit more of an adventure given that I was house sitting so in an unknown! kitchen & oven, but what a joy! To have the time and space to lean in. To make, to share.

My pal who is Celiac and also a top chef! Always misses out in the pastry department - so it was so nice to be able to make sure - that this time she didn’t.

New digs’
just off green lanes 💕close to most’ of my people, and 10 min 🚲to my favourite place @westreservoir_n4

Went for a walk, caught a train, gifted some baked goods, climbed to the top of Parliament Hill.

Heading back down the hill, I found this teeny tiny cake slice of a charity shop. Drawn in by the stripe awning and a little table with a hand written sign out the front.
It was there that I met Nick - who made this very jar of damson plum jam from his! tree - just at the top of the hill.

“60% fruit 40% sugar he proudly sang -That’s it!
Straight in the fridge after you open it ok?”

how to say see’ ya later,
and thank-you, and I missed you & I love you,
is always the same way to say hello in equal measures in my house.

When there’s lotsa words & lots of feelings & well, lots of stuff. Do it with cake, and maybe a freshly brewed cafetière of delicious coffee, and a healthy dessert spoon of cream. & extra hugs on the side. Always hugs.
Everything else is noise. 🤘🏼🤌🏼🫶🐨🔆💕🌊

Oh! And always do a double batch - your work pals on a tube strike day of tube strikes will be super grateful & poss forget for a moment about their swiftly approaching 1002,02884 mins journey home . . . by @luna_hackney

Strawberry’s and cream remind me of strawberry short cake as a kid. Once the fresh in-season strawberry’s have been sandwiched in and become pals to their dairy blanket, I’m not quite sure you could convince me of a better taste. 100% also capable of transporting me back to being that 11 year old.
Naturally sweet, juicy & creamy with a vanilla buttermilk cake of dreams to hold it allll in.
Instant grin’ making kinda stuff.

Nice to have you here mum & dad.

Beautiful voluptuous eggs, golden caster sugar,
@honest_toil olive oil 💕A whole lot of fruit & ground almonds, a light lemon syrup, steeped with bay leaves.
