In honor of Shakespeare's birthday this week, @pragueshakes has generously offered me a limited number of room-and-board scholarships for their Summer Shakespeare Intensive, valued at $1,000 each. If you are interested in applying, please send your resume, photo, a statement of purpose indicating your area of focus (Acting, Directing, etc.), and the track you are applying for (Emerging, Standard, Advanced) to training@pragueshakespeare.org and programmes@xbstrategist.com. 📣NEW INTENSIVE FACULTY📣 Prague Shakespeare Company is delighted to share that Lana Veenker will be joining our faculty for the 2026 Summer Shakespeare Intensive! Lana Veenker CSA is a U.S. casting director and cross-border strategist, convening industry professionals around international casting and collaboration across the U.S. and European film industries. She began her career as a theatre actor-director and transitioned to casting after a stint at Zimmermann Casting in London. An Emmy and Artios Award nominee with over 25 years of experience, Lana has cast independent features and television projects for studios, networks, and streaming platforms, including work with directors Gus Van Sant, Jean-Marc Vallée, and Catherine Hardwicke. Her casting credits include projects that have premiered at Cannes, Sundance, Tribeca, SXSW, and Slamdance, among others. She has cast over 350 episodes of television as both primary and location casting. Lana lectures internationally on casting and the global film industry and is a regular guest instructor at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg’s International Screen Acting Workshop. She is a member of the Television Academy, the Casting Society, and the European Film Academy, and currently serves as President of the International Casting Directors Association (ICDA).
