Meet Lydia 🐛🌞🦋🐚🌺
I’m a 500-hour registered yoga teacher and full-time solo traveler with 4+ years of teaching experience. My classes blend my training background in Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Hatha to build strength, improve flexibility and mobility, encourage playfulness, and create space for deep opening. On the mat, I hope to create an environment where students can listen to themselves, stay curious in their practice, find mental stillness, and connect to their breath and movement. Whether I’m leading a power vinyasa, restorative flow or guided meditation my goal is for everyone to leave my class feeling grounded, refreshed, and confident. eight months ago i was lost, confused & heartbroken, and i decided to take a chance to follow the two things i knew i deeply loved: yoga & travel. i quit my job, sold all my stuff, said goodbye to all my friends & family, left the united states, and flew straight to india. i spent the next 6 months traveling around southeast asia, deepening my understanding, respect & love for the practice of yoga, finding my spark again, meeting some incredible people, and spending a lottt of my time alone: journaling, writing, breathing, moving my body, crying, dreaming, meditating, feeling everythinggg, and most importantly, realizing that i could live the rest of my life completely by myself and i would be okay because i truly love my own company. it’s an immense privilege to travel, to experience solitude, and to even be able to make a decision where i get to navigate my path, for which i’m so grateful. if you have the opportunity, go see the world. you’ll learn and grow more than any other job or school could teach you. as anthony bourdain once said, travel is not a reward for working, it’s education for the living.

i’m so excited to be taking 12 queer folks to el tunco, el salvador with @yourfriendsareboringwearenot for a week of surfing, relaxing, & exploring! 🏄‍♂️

we’ll be staying beachfront at sunzal surf garden from jan 16-23 with a pool and ocean access, surf lessons every day, all breakfasts + lunches included & plenty of time to soak up the sun 🌞 we’ll end our week exploring tamanique waterfalls and natural pools, hiking santa ana volcanic crater, and swimming in lagoon coatepeque 🌋

I had this moment during my silent meditation retreat where I realized even the most depressed, unhealed and struggling versions of myself are completely perfect as they are and worthy of love & respect. I think sometimes it’s really easy to judge ourselves when the mind is dark, but these are the parts of ourself that are most important to hold with tenderness and care ❤️‍🩹
