Over the last few months I've had the privilege of being part of a programme called Work with your MEP.

A fantastic opportunity for young people who believe in positive politics based on equality and justice to follow an EU file directly.

Today we hosted a podcast discussing the file we worked on and what we learned from the experience. by @lynnboylansf

While the Irish government posts AI generated photos of themselves from an AI summit - I was delighted to collaborate with artist @eoinmckart to remind people to support Irish artists, musicians and writers instead of AI slop! by @lynnboylansf

Proud to stand with Public Sector workers on the picket line today in Dublin.

These workers delivers services that all of us depend on, and they deserve a fair pay deal for the work they do.

Up the workers! ✊ by @lynnboylansf

I was delighted to speak at the launch of the International Centre for Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) Éire this evening.

This group will be an important part of pushing for real action against Israel by the Irish Government and by the EU.

We need more than empty words from our leaders. We need he suspension of the EU-Israel association agreement, an end to all trade with illegal settlements, and for those responsible for violating international law to be held accountable for their actions. taken in Wynns Hotel Dublin by @lynnboylansf

I send my full solidarity and support to all workers taking strike action tomorrow.

Fair pay is the least that any worker deserves.

They certainly deserve to be treated better than the utter disdain and disinterest from the government which has led to this point. by @lynnboylansf

As part of the MOTHEROTHER relaunch event, we toured the speaker's work, including artist Claire Ong’s work ‘you will be cancelled’, part of @middlesbroughartweek on display at @theauxiliaryprojectspace.

@claire_o_studio is an award-winning Irish artist, living and working in Newcastle upon Tyne. She explores human language through multiple techniques and materials, primarily textiles, using screen printing, stitching, and repurposed textiles.

We learned about Claire’s process and materials, and how her work re-examines political statements when they are made permanent and context is removed. She presents a modern narrative in a traditionally female medium, playing with repetition, innuendo, and layered meanings, and crossing the boundaries between graffiti and fine textiles. We were also incredibly lucky to be joined by MEP @lynnboylansf, who, a year ago, gave a speech that resonated with Claire that she moved to create a piece based on her words.

Claire was awarded the inaugural Newlight Summer Art Textiles Bursary Award for State of the Nation, a substantial piece examining the caustic language and promises around the 2024 general election, and is a 2026/7 winner of Seaton Delaval Hall’s North East Emerging Artist Award, presenting Uneasy Chairs, a work shaped by the hall’s history as a World War II overspill prisoner-of-war camp. Ong has exhibited widely, including at Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead; the Newlight Art Prize exhibition, Sunnybank Mill; the National Gallery of Scotland; and the House of Smalls, Edinburgh. by @lynnboylansf

The EU is supposed to be a champion of Human rights - yet it’s not only failing to hold those who violate human rights to account, but in a lot of case the EU is actually doing business with these states.

Yesterday, I met with Maryam Alkhawaja to talk about her human rights work, the case of her father, a human rights defender and European citizen who is imprisoned in Bahrain.

I also heard about the human rights situation in the Gulf from Joey Shea of Human Rights Watch.

Protecting Human Rights is more important than ever, and the EU needs to actually stand up and protect these rights if it wants to repair its international reputation. by @lynnboylansf

Even the dogs on the street know that ISDS is bad!

Exposing Ireland to corporate courts will hurt our sovereignty, and risk “chilling” any attempts to deliver positive change for housing, healthcare and environmental laws. by @lynnboylansf

Pick up a copy of Northside People today in Dublin to read my article, calling on the government to buy Moore Street.

The GPO and Moore Street must be developed as a historic cultural quarter, not turned into soulless retail and office space.

Sign the petition launched by the Moore Street preservation trust, calling on the government to take Moore Street into public ownership and turn it into a site that preserves our revolutionary history https://www.change.org/p/save-moore-street-buy-the-terrace

Thanks again to the team at ‘Dublin People’ for working with us to highlight this important issue! by @lynnboylansf
