Popping in with a new quick sketchbook page, this time with an Inktober prompt included and a fall / Halloween themed palette. 🧡 💛

While I don't have the ability to do a full month of Inktober pieces, I thought I'd do a few from different prompt lists I found - and I'll be sharing them all this month!

This first sketch has a vinyl and polaroid themed background, hinting at 2 prompts from @selipa_ambre's Coz' Inktober list!

I have a couple new pieces in the works, but in the meantime, I thought I'd share a new page from my sketchbook

If you remember the last sketchbook page I shared, I've been experimenting with washi tape and using it in different parts of a drawing. This time I used it to add some background shapes, and needless to say, I loved it. 💕 by @lyrickasart

For this new piece, I tried to use different concepts / details I rarely use or haven't used before.

The base concept for this piece was directional lines and shapes. The first detail I knew I wanted to try was a brighter, warmer color palette mixed with my classic grayscale palette. Secondly, I knew I wanted to try drawing the bantu knot hairstyle. It's a beautiful protective style that can look even more enhanced when adding thread or bands to it. The rest came easily after that.
