Feeling vulnerable, kinda nervous👇🏼

In 2023, my physical activity shifted drastically when I began my first round of multiple fertility treatments. I always kept movement a priority for my physical and mental health, but the limitations started compounding.

After multiple invasive and painful procedures, abdominal surgery, miscarriage, pelvic floor therapy, an endometriosis diagnosis, wrist sprain, and the Christmas pneumonia nobody asked for, I felt my healthiest outlet slipping away when I needed it most.

All of this while navigating major life transitions (divorce, a career change, and starting over).

I look around the gym and I know I’m not the only one who comes here seeking refuge from life’s challenges through a workout, and showing up to do just one thing to make myself better.

Whatever you’ve been through, whatever your reasons are, I’m glad you’re here. 🌱🩶💪🏼

It’s not all hype songs and heavy weights btw. August was soft and slow, but taking in every moment. Remembering there was a time I couldn’t even pick up a barbell and so I remain happy I get to do this thing for myself most days. That’s the whole point. States, I’ll see you in a month and I’ll be ready. 🤟🏼🩶

I know I’m not the only one (unfortunately).

Even after a solid warmup targeting all my cycle-day-specific needs, the body was just like nah. I listened, but I also whined about it.

I guarantee you are already making sacrifices for things you don’t even want or need as badly. If not a trip, do something, anything to widen the lens from which you view this life.

Try new things, collect experiences. Smell, taste, feel something you’ve never before. Look at a flower and see her!
