“City House Velipojë”
Architecture of living between sea and city

Between sea and city, between urban fragmentation and the desire for community, City House Velipojë takes shape — the outcome of the Architectural Design Studio II within the five-year Master’s Degree in Architecture.
The project adopts the square as a typological principle and settlement device: a spatial matrix capable of generating relationships between dwelling and collective space, between interior and exterior, between individuality and shared life.
Located in Velipojë, along the Albanian coastline — a territory marked by urban discontinuities and a still fragile relationship between city and sea — the residential organism becomes an opportunity to rethink domestic space through:

▫️ threshold systems and adaptive second skin
▫️ open courts and shared voids
▫️ intermediate spaces
▫️ relational devices

Living expands beyond enclosure, embracing mutable daily practices and new forms of coexistence.
The house is no longer only a shelter, but a relational structure capable of reconnecting city and landscape.
A compositional exercise that becomes a critical reflection on contemporary dwelling.
A special thanks to @_michelacolucci Michela Colucci and @monisantoro_ Monica Santoro for the passion, intellectual generosity, and dedication with which they carried forward this ambitious project, contributing with commitment and depth at every stage of the process.
My sincere gratitude to the friends, colleagues, and PhD candidates of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design (DADI) who actively took part in the day of discussion and debate, fostering a climate of genuine exchange, shared reflection, and collective growth.
And above all, to the students I had the privilege to work with: for your enthusiasm, your seriousness, and the collaborative spirit you have demonstrated since day one. Your commitment transformed the studio into a space of research, dialogue, and possibility.

#GEOMA is the final exhibition of the material landscape design studio, part of the Master’s Degree in Design for Innovation.
The course explores landscape as a perceptive and cultural device.
Through observation, the collection of natural and artificial elements, critical reflection, and hands-on creative practice, students created individual totems — symbolic and narrative artifacts expressing personal visions of inhabited space.
The installations compose an emotional geography where words, bodies, objects, and matter intertwine in sensitive patterns.
The cloister becomes not just a backdrop, but an active part of the project — a space of poetic transcription and critical restitution of the learning experience.

The title stems from the fusion of geo- (earth) and the Greek suffix -ma (the result of an action), evoking a form shaped by the relationship between gesture and landscape.
At the same time, GEOMA is also a meaningful acronym:
Empathic GEOgraphies – wOrds, bOdies, MAterial.
A title that reflects the layered and sensitive nature of the research, where the experience of landscape is translated into forms, traces, and narratives.

Cross the Line. From the margins to a new rebirth

A research project I personally coordinated, developed within the design laboratories of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design – University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, aimed at exploring strategies for the regeneration and recovery of the coastal areas of the Campania Region.

I sincerely thank curators @tstudio_salimei Guendalina Salimei and @crassociati Carlo Ratti for giving me the opportunity to present this research journey and design vision on such a prestigious international stage.

Part of the research I led is currently exhibited at the Italian Pavilion of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, in the Quadreria section dedicated to “Terræ Aquæ. Italy and the intelligence of the sea”, open until 23 November 2025.

Beyond the limit, towards new possibilities.
Stay tuned for the next steps of this ongoing research.

The Architectural design laboratory 1C focuses on the redevelopment of the Saraceno Park, in the Coppola Village (Pinetamare) in Castelvolturno, province Caserta. In the 1950s and 1960s, this location was a popular tourist destination, celebrated for its lively social life and natural beauty. But the rapid urbanization and illegal construction, due to various factors and an incorrect Urban planning policy have traformed the “city of man, Paradise of flowers” into an area dominated by concrete leading it to decline.
Our goal is to restore Parco Saraceno to its original splendor transforming it into an emblematic and vital place. The project is based on three fundamental pillars, residential redevelopment, creation of common and shared spaces, and rediscovery of the value of socialization. The rethinking of Parco Saraceno represents an opportunity demonstrate how architecture can regenerate an area and improve people’s lives. Through this laboratory, we are committed to training a new generation of architects ready to face the challenges of the future with creativity respect for history, and attention to sustainability and social well-being. taken in Dipartimento di Architettura e Disegno Industriale - Design per la Moda by @m.gelvi
