We’re reposting our ICE Navigation Guide, a practical resource to help educators, directors, staff, volunteers, and performers understand how to identify immigration enforcement, know basic rights, and create safety plans for tours, shows, and housing sites this season.

This guide outlines:
🔹 how to spot ICE or collaborating agents
🔹 who can be detained
🔹 rights in public spaces, vehicles, housing, and shows
🔹 and step-by-step suggestions for creating a safety plan with staff and volunteers.

Preparation and awareness are vital. Don’t wait until enforcement is at your door.
📌 Find the guide at the link in our bio.

Happy Pride Month from everyone here at MAASIN! While this years Pride might not be nearly as cheerful as it should be, now is the perfect time to support one another, as a community, and stand together to protect those that need it most! No matter how you identify, even if you haven’t come out yet, you are seen and you have a place here, both in the marching arts and here at MAASIN.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and grief is one of the most human experiences we rarely make space for in the marching arts. 💙

From losing someone while on tour, to the quiet loss of aging out, this activity asks a lot of us emotionally.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week from MAASIN!

The marching arts wouldn’t exist without the educators who give everything to it, so let’s celebrate them! 🎵

MAASIN member Sam Chase reflects on the teachers whose influence still shows up in her own classroom, and why this week is a good reminder to tell them what they meant to you.
