Introducing ‘Fall’s New Light,’ starring Emmanuel Macchia (@MacchiaEmmanuel) for the final cover of VMAN 57 Fall/Winter 2026.

In ‘Le Petit Prince,’ Antoine de Saint-Exupéry famously wrote that “all grown-ups were once children...but only a few of them remember it.” For Macchia, remembering the person he was before any of this is central to understanding the person he is becoming. Long before the red carpets, fashion shows, and attention that followed his debut, he was a shy kid who struggled to find where he fit and wondered what his future might look like.

Much of that younger self remains with Macchia as he navigates a world that once seemed far removed from his own. Rather than measuring success by how much has changed around him, he looks back at what carried him through the years before it did. “I think success is about never stopping.”
