Cinematographer Maceo Bishop @maceobishop combines 16mm, IMAX 65mm, and vintage broadcast video for The Smashing Machine, crafting a hyper-real look that evolves with the story. Shot mostly handheld on Arriflex 416 cameras with Zeiss 11–110mm T2.2 zooms, the film relied on @kodak_shootfilm Kodak Vision3 500T, 200T, and 250D stocks. Broadcast segments were captured with 1990s Ikegami HL-59 cameras, degraded to evoke VHS footage, while the IMAX @imax epilogue used a customized MSM 9802 rig outfitted with bespoke handles for handheld work.
