Thanks to everyone for your prayers and encouragement. I love my brother and miss him a lot, and grieving him has been tough to say the least. But our family is gonna be okay! We have our hope and anchor secure. The Lord has been with us through every moment we’re processing and is holding us fast. by @macklyndion

Last night my brother Matthew went to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer. My brother was a light in this world. And even in moments when he didn’t see just how bright he shined, others around him knew for themselves that to be around him would be a delight and ultimately a moment of knowing more of who God was through him.

The stories people have shared about how they grew because of him, how he was like family to them, or how he challenged them to be excellent in their craft while also leaning more into Jesus. These things sit in my heart today as I mourn. And at the same time I know he has no more pain or sorrow. He is satisfied fully in the embrace of Christ.

Thanks to those of you who have called and texted us already. Thanks to those of you who loved on him while he was here on this earth. He may not have made an big impact around the world, but his mark here in Roanoke is indelible. Not to mention he was a great brother. The best that could ever do it.

Please keep us in prayer as we process, grieve, remember the joyful moments, and press through. God’s got us and we love and trust him with everything we have.

This week showed me just how prideful I can be. I ended up getting strep throat AND a cold simultaneously and it was the worst. On top of that my battery died and the check engine light in my car came on the same day. I was discouraged, and while my mom asked me if I had friends to help I didn’t wanna bother them and wanted to instead figure out how to handle things myself.

I allowed myself to be alone when God was trying to teach me to depend—depend on him and depend on my friends. And thank God I did, because they came through in so many ways. I’m feeling much better now, and my car has been fixed, thank the Lord!

I’m the one so busy trying to be there for others, but don’t want the same. I’m so grateful that God cares to remind me that I can’t do it all and I can’t do it alone.

Thanks to everyone that hit me up to check in, get me groceries, get my antibiotics, and even bring me breakfast and lunch when you didn’t have to. Thank you God for teaching me through this time. #lessons #durhamnc by @macklyndion
