My character in Fair City, 'Damien Halpin' never got an easy time of it over the years. There were quite a few sticky situations and I was more than happy to step up and perform my own stunts. Whether it was a scrap, being trapped in a blazing building or spending 16 hours in a wet tank. I've done fire and flooding, I suppose it's pestilence next. The following are a mixture of publicity shots and stills shared across multiple national newspapers, promoting the storylines at the time. #actor #acting #actorslife #faircity #rteฬ #soapdrama #tvdrama #publicityshots #stills #stunts #stuntwork #firework #firestunts #watertankstunts #fightchoreography by @macleanburke

This was such a wonderful project to be part of, my children were the right age to enjoy it. I got to work with some very talented young actors and we had to pretend Roy was on set getting into all sorts of adventures. Little ROY is an Irish-British live-action animated children's television series, which was broadcast by TRTEฬ and RTEฬ TWO In Ireland, CBBC and CBeebies in the United Kingdom and ABC Kids in Australia. The show centres on the title character Roy O'Brien, the 5-year-old animated son of a live-action family. I played the character Bill O'Brien, father of Roy. Produced by Jam Media, we shot 2 series with 52 episodes in total in 2016/17. Here's a snippet of the opening titles, sing along if you know it - wish I still had those knees! #actor #acting #actorslife #faircity #rteฬ #TRTEฬ #abckidsaustralia #bbc #cbbc #cbeebies #childrenstelevision #littleroy #roythecartoonboy @jammediaanimation @rte_entertainmentonline @rte2 @cbbc @cbeebies @abckids by @macleanburke

After the 80's photo yesterday I thought I'd give you something current. This headshot is one of my favourites from a recent shoot by Liam Cooney @manofmomentsphotography Honestly, I highly recommend, he has a great little studio set up in Gorey and really understood the brief. I got a few different shots, different moods and looks, I might make a shirt reel of them yet. So what do you thik this character does for a living, would you buy a car from him? Would you trust him to get the job done? Let me know what you think. #headshots #headshot #actor #actorslife #photo #photography #casting #castings #portraitphotography by @macleanburke

ANDROID: IN THE MAKING ๐Ÿค–๐Ÿฆฟ Wellโ€ฆ new knee installed. โœ… Although this isn't exactly my first visit to the spare-parts department. ๐Ÿ”ฉ Pins in the hand ๐Ÿ”ฉ Pin + tendon rebuilds in the shoulder ๐Ÿฆถ A couple of Achilles rebuilds ๐Ÿฆฟ And nowโ€ฆ a brand-new knee At this stage I'm not getting older โ€” I'm being rebuilt. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Slowly turning into an Android, one failed original component at a time. The new knee may squeak unless regularly oiled, takes a while to boot up in the mornings and currently has the turning circle of an articulated lorry. But it's in. I'm up. Android Burke is coming online. ๐Ÿค–๐Ÿ˜‚ And of courseโ€ฆthe left knee still has to follow. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Give it another few years and I'll have more aftermarket parts than a 1998 Toyota Supra. In 2015 I played Garth Brooks and other minor roles in Fiona Looney's play 'Are you there Garth? It's me Margaret'. Deirdre O'Kane played Margaret, a housewife stuck in an endless cycle of ironing and chores. Daydreaming in her kitchen she takes solace in her chats to country mega star Garth Books. I did sing a big number and managed to do this project whilst simultaneously recording Fair City scenes during the day. I remember it all as a blur. The PR in advance of this production was amazing and we even had a horse up outside the Gaeity for a photocall. #actor #acting #actorslife #faircity #rteฬ #soapdrama #tvdrama #gaeitytheatre #publicityshots #stills #stage #stageacting #theatre #singing #dancing #garthbrooks @deirdreokane123 @gaiety_theatre #fionalooney #horseoutside by @macleanburke

Whilst in the land down under last year I got a golden ticket to watch the Wallabies play the British & Irish Lions as part of the Legends Series. I'm a serious Rugby fan, my family are serious fans, my 2 sons are serious players and fans, this was a big deal for me and the crowd was pumped. The MC doing the intro was such a hype man and a vibe. I swear the opening sequence was like a modern Gladiator experience. To say that it was epic is an understatement, torrential rain and lightning forced a 40-minute suspension during the game. Ultimately, The Wallabies defeated the British & Irish Lions 22โ€“12 in the third and final Test match at Accor Stadium in Sydney on August 2, 2025. But lads what an experience! There maybe a bad word or two to be heard but it was the sheer excitement and adrenaline of it all. Seriously good memories #australia #holiday #sydney #family #accorstadium #downunder #rugby #RugbyLegends #BritishAndIrishLions #LionsRugby #britishandirishlegends by @macleanburke
