Faircity throwback โœจ๐ŸŽฌ I will always be grateful to have played Katy Oโ€™Brien in @faircity_ The part that launched a thousand memeโ€™s! And a few petitions ๐Ÿ™ˆ That part came into my life when I was feeling a bit lost and really trying to figure out who I was in my 20โ€™s and I will never forget the incredible people I got to work with, learn from and I still admire and look up to them today. I learned so much from them on and off screen, the love, friendship and supportโ€ฆ The giggles and belly laughs behind the scenes. Every dressing room chat and make up chair DMC. A very significant time in my life and I was part of the Faircity family and Iโ€™ll be forever proud of my time there. Yesterday we had actor Maclean Burke in studio as this weekโ€™s guest on โ€œSit with Meโ€ Thursdays 7 - 9 pm on WNSR The Best Mix. Many hadnโ€™t realised Maclean is my brother, my very tall little brother. We had great craic shooting the breeze reminiscing about our old drama teacher from Bray, Gladys Sheehan, a glorious character and legend in her own lifetime. It was through her agency that Mac got his first break into film, with a role opposite Daniel Day Lewis in โ€˜In the Name of the Fatherโ€™. We chronicled his time with โ€˜Saving Private Ryanโ€™, a small independent film with Colin Farrell and how it was that he landed a role as father to a cartoon boy on the series โ€˜Roy the Cartoon Boyโ€™ and many other stage roles including Garth Brooks. We got a little deeper into his craft, the differences between acting for stage and screen, the rigorous workload for soaps and spoke about his characterโ€™s sabbatical from Fair City after 30 years. Whilst looking back, we also discussed whatโ€™s on the horizon, Macleanโ€™s dodgy knees and upcoming surgeries and most importantly we got to share our cringey sibling handshake and slag our little sister off on the air. All in all, a great 2 hours of insightful, humorous stuff. The interview was recorded by Tadhg our sound engineer and weโ€™ll hopefully share that at a later date. Maclean will be appearing in the 3Olympiaโ€™s Panto again this Christmas as Dame Polly in โ€˜Cinderella: Olly & the Glass Slipperโ€™. You can listen to the newest sound of the southeast with music 24/7 and an ever increasing daily schedule by checking out www.wnsr.ie for more information and click to listen live, weโ€™re also available on TuneIn. Attached are some pics of my colleagues Dave & Jimmy meeting Mac in studio whilst modeling our new station merch! . @macleanburke @wnsr.ie @dave_red @jimmyryan_dj @3olympiatheatre @ollypanto @tadhg_alan_monty #radio #radioshow #onlineradio #digitalradio #radiohost

โ€œSit with Meโ€ Thursdays 7 - 9 pm on the southeastโ€™s newest digital radio station, WNSR The Best Mix, is when I have a special guest in studio. Tonight Iโ€™ll be chatting with actor Maclean Burke. Probably most recognisable for his role as Damien Halpin in RTEฬโ€™s Fair City, a younger audience also know him as the Dad in Roy the Boy and for several years he has been an old school Panto Dame in the 3Olympiaโ€™s Christmas Panto. Maclean has quite a few strings to his bow on stage, film and small screen and weโ€™ll be talking about his life on and off stage, his connections with Wexford and whatโ€™s next. Available on TuneIn or go to www.wnsr.ie to listen. @macleanburke @wnsr.ie @dave_red @3olympiatheatre @ollypanto #radio #radioshow #onlineradio #digitalradio #radiohost
