ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT // MACON ESCOBAL RILEY

We’re thrilled to welcome Macon Escobal Riley to ADT as a Company Artist.

Macon is an Australian-Filipino dancer and multi-disciplinary performer. He was raised in Garramilla with street styles like Break Dancing, Popping and Locking, and Waving. He then graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) with Honours, where he cultivated a rich foundation in contemporary dance and performance.

He has performed with Co3 Contemporary Dance (2021 - 2025), and has worked with Marrugeku, OFFBase Dance Company (2022 - 2025), and Opera Australia. He has worked broadly with independent choreographers across the country.

Macon is an explosive performer and a total vibe. He loves manga and is the owner of a little orange cat. He’ll make his debut with the company in the world premiere season of Faraway by Jenni Large at the 2026 Adelaide Festival.

I’ve been in the face of some really beautiful and scary things over the last couple of months, first time performing in the Amazing Adelaide Festival on Kaurna Yerta, seeing my beautiful friends become married, and pet a LOTTA dogs and cats

Life is getting busier and busier and I’m loving the work, Marrugeku and Jurrungu Ngaanga Straight Talk you have an incredibly dear place in my heart, happy that this work brings me across the country and reconnects me to all people.

Finally I turned 25 this year, yikes.

pls be nice to me in my old age

sincerely,

Lolo Macon taken in Adelaide, South Australia by @maconriley_

Remembering everything,
it’s been an amazing couple of months, first @b12.research.or.die, first Europe tour with the amazing @marrugeku, first holiday, getting to come home and perform with @co3contemporarydance, and first time performing with @westaustralianopera!
Excited for what’s next

It’s been a whirlwind and I’m still kind of processing all these amazing memories, forgetting to give myself a break but loving it and everyone

back in Perth now for some calm before the next adventure

A collection of rehearsal shots from our latest tour through the Kimberly, all shots taken by the incredible @balaluke

It’s been an amazing couple of months travelling around and dancing. It’s been challenging but I’ve loved getting to know these artists, this company, and myself deeper as we travel and can’t wait to do it all again very soon!

Missing all my friends on and off tour love u all by @maconriley_
