you’ll be nervous. you’ll feel shy. you’ll fan girl. and you don’t fan girl. but stick around.

stick around. have a drink. go on stage. but don’t touch anything 😉

say thank you when he offers to hold your records in his backpack at the bar. let him guess what you do for a living. but don’t laugh when he says he thinks you work with horses.

cheers. revel in a moment to say thank you to someone whose creations have made life brighter. but make sure not to miss your 6 am flight the next day.

When our moms made us do a photo shoot in the kiddie pool on our senior spring break in Cancun, we were barely friends, loosely connected by soccer, ski racing, and a thing for Ke$ha.

Who would have thought, ten years later, you’d trust me enough to take your engagement photos, let alone stand in your wedding… 😉 @malslick

Michigan made the connection, but Utah brought us together, and I’m so dang lucky I can call both you and your hubby, mr.@thaynerich, two of my best mates.

It was a weekend of love, laughter, and R-rated debauchery, and I wouldn’t expect anything else. Cheers to a life of many more weekends just like this one.

anyone else feel generally overwhelmed by the sheer amount of societal issues bombarding them in the media each and every day?! ha ya, same.

I was listening to a podcast the other day and this conversation about how we, as people, are not mentally or physically designed to take on global issues daily stuck with me. The offered solution to dealing with overwhelm? ACT LOCALLY.

Utah fwends, @parkcitycf is a freaking awesome organization I’ve worked with for the past year, and TODAY, Friday Nov. 5 we’re hosting a massive fundraiser called #livepcgivepc. For 24 hours, 120+ nonprofits that service the Wasatch Back / Range are raising $$ to support climate, social equity, domestic violence, arts & culture, mental health, avalanche safety, the list goes on…

If there’s a cause you care about supporting in the Salt Lake/Park City area, go explore the myriad of organizations on the ground, doing the work. A little goes a long way! Bonus, all new donors $ will be boosted by $10 😉

when I was a kid, I always wanted a dog. I’d ask for one every birthday, every holiday, really anytime I had a chance. my dad would bring home stuffed dogs instead...as if they were a substitute for the real thing...(they weren’t). he didn’t have a dog growing up. he didn’t really get it.

but in ‘07, he caved. enter Murphy.

some folks may find it silly, to mourn the loss of a dog. but anyone who knows my family knows how hard we loved our boy.

I think it’s because he taught us a little something about gentle love and resilient companionship. he was a constant comfort we could lean into when the human world got a little too much to handle. Murph had soul.

@clarechapman grew up Mormon and learned that “gratitude is the only accepted attitude”. that pain should be subdued and ignored, rather than acknowledged and healed.

her story of finding comfort in community while struggling with her mental health and an eating disorder is a story that is far too familiar to many, including myself.

but Clare is brave enough to be vulnerable. she saw something toxic manifesting in her, so she decided to do something about it. through skiing and creating @thesaltlakesisterhood, she learned to “ride the wave” that is the journey of becoming a whole ass human being.

***whether you struggle with depression, anxiety, ED, OCD, ADHD, or any other kind of mental health issue, please please please remember that you are not alone. the hardest battles happen behind close doors. we, and so many others, stand with you.***

“I live on Earth at present, and I don’t know what I am. I know that I am not a category. I am not a thing — a noun. I seem to be a verb, an evolutionary process — an integral function of the universe.”

I was strolling through the streets of Milan when I stumbled upon this quote in a window. “Expedition of the Mind” — a @braindead & @thenorthface collab. the sidewalks were early morning golden. the city was not yet awake. in the moment, I was alone, but had never felt more “seen.”

I am a verb. We are verbs. Multi-faceted, beautiful, evolving beings — moving through time as different versions of ourselves, adapting to the impermanence of life as it happens, as we happen.

sometimes life moves so fast that I’ve come to resent it. but I’ve also come to learn that if we are still, the world moves around us and tells us everything we need to know. #iykyk

thanks for all of the sunshine, smiles, and beers these past twenty-five years 🌞 I’ve felt the love from my people from all corners of the earth over the past few days, and all I can say is that I’m grateful, and so very very privileged. thank you. 🦋🌻 taken in Salt Lake City, Utah by @macrheamo
