My poppy, my bestfriend and now my guardian angel🤍 The most kind, compassionate, empathetic and genuine person I’ve ever met. You were so much more than a grandparent to me, you raised me and taught me the meaning of love. My safe place, my person. People like you don’t exist anymore, the kind of person you would be lucky enough to come across once in your lifetime, but I was even luckier because I got you as my pop.

They say the worst things happen to the best people, so for over ten years now you’ve had to battle dementia. For ten years I’ve watched you fade away and along with you the memories of us, but I know in my heart that your love for me never faded, it was just a bit hidden. I will always be so grateful for everything you gave me over the last 20 years but most importantly for these last 11 days, of extra time together. You’re a fighter and I’m so proud of you but now it’s time to rest and be at peace. I will dream each night of the day we are reunited and I will feel whole again, but until then ride the waves up there and have a glass of red and send me signs. I promise to make you proud Poppy.

I love you forever and always, Missy🪽🕊️ by @maddiesimitzis
