Today's SOUNZ Film features the @nzymphonyorchestra performing @maddypcmusic's gorgeous and reflective 'New Mountain'. This work portrays a moment of grief at Matariki, when we are encouraged to acknowledge those lost in the previous year. Listen for the bursts of light and sound in the orchestra's swells up and down, going from introspection and loss to the promise and hope of a new year. Full film on our YouTube channel, at the link in our bio 🎥

Recorded as part of the 2024 NZ Composer Sessions. Audio by David Houston for RNZ Concert. Filmed by Chris Watson for SOUNZ. Film funded by @nz_on_air. by @maddypcmusic

Poor Rebecca caught me on a day of not enough food and way too much coffee, so I just talked manically at her and somehow she turned it into this 💁‍♀️

Some of you might have noticed my listing in this year’s Dunedin Fringe guide. I was soooo looking forward to this show and it was a difficult decision to cancel. Due to covid I lost my venue and rehearsal space, and everyone involved is either in education or retail. Odds that no one would be sick come show night was not a bet I wanted to take.

Thanks to those who already put time in to this. Hopefully we can get this event off the ground later this year.

If you’re on the hunt for a good event to go to I hear Gaslight Me is amaaaaaazing ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 by @maddypcmusic
