We worked with scentimental to rebrand and redesign their packaging around the idea that the right scent can transport you to a time - a place - a memory. Inspired by the founder's love for travel and the brand idea 'a memory waxed in time' crafted by @atinudahconcepts - we used collage, postcard motifs, and rich, warm colours to design their Artisan and Origin Collections. In loud and busy Lagos, away from tall shiny buildings & gold plated gates, Ajiran promises to be a place that makes coming home a peaceful and grounding experience. To support the brand we developed a warm colour palette and graphic system of natural shapes and textures to speak to Ajiran as a place purpose-built to enhance community, wellness and life as it should be. Ajiran village answers the question of what it really means to live well. by @madebyaseda
The logo also speaks to Ajiran Village being a place where people work (spear), rest (the landscape), eat and enjoy (the fish); ultimately creating a natural ecosystem where people can experience deeper connection with their surroundings (the sun). by @madebyaseda
In developing the logo we used the lino-cutting print method - an art print technique popular in Nigeria. The end result is a logo that feels natural and authentically Nigerian. The logo is inspired by the founding story of the Ajiran area: two hunters journey across the river to rest and eat the spoils of their hunt. The area where they rested became known as “a je eran” or Ajiran. The spear, fish, lined landscape and sun all echo the narrative of Ajiran’s founding. The logo shape is modelled after the traditional tribal shields of the Yoruba people. by @madebyaseda
Ajiran Village [development pending] is a modern, sustainable mixed use development located in Ajiran, Lagos Nigeria built predominantly from locally sourced materials. At a time when luxury housing translates to increased privacy and gold and marble interiors, we were engaged to craft a brand identity for Ajiran Village, a housing development that promises to be authentic to the Nigerian culture and natural landscape. With this in mind, we created a visual identity for Ajiran Village pays homage to the communal architectural philosophy of the Nigerian/Yoruba people. We consulted on the brand strategy and also developed a verbal and visual brand identity including logo, tagline, graphic assets and supporting brand collateral. The brand strategy for Ajiran Village is centred around a call for people to live intentionally and interact with their environment in an age where people live rushed and faced paced lives. by @madebyaseda
We created a visual identity for figg around the brand idea: “What if all the right people, resources & opportunities came together for Africa to bloom?”. we used rough brush strokes, plants & trees as a way of casting figg as a key player in rewriting and reimagining Africa’s future. We chose to balance assets that felt warm and friendly - like the sans serif font Poppins and a vibrant orange with a more stable dark purple and minimalist grid system to give the brand a trustworthy but approachable feel. by @madebyaseda
figg is an Africa focused crowdfunding platform that connects early stage African startups to investment opportunities and resources. We worked with figg to craft a verbal and visual identity that positioned figg as an approachable partner for startups and a trustworthy platform for fundraising in Africa. Through our discovery and strategy, we framed the core brand idea around the question: “What if all the right people, resources & opportunities came together for Africa to bloom?” by @madebyaseda
