The summer I waited for my tits to drop: Part 3

This summer was filled with music and dancing with friends. My husband turned 40. There were workouts, cat snuggles, poolside cinnamon rolls, baseball, desert trips, tons of sunscreen, picnics, sunsets and cute moons, a lot of Wingspan, neighborhood parrots, boat rides, Splash House, ghosts, delicious food, more dancing with friends, tattoos, and David Byrne. I voted and also solved a murder.

The experience of a rage room was extremely therapeutic and I highly recommend it. I am full of rage and carry it without shame but finding new outlets to physically release it from my body is a gift. by @madelynyork

Two weeks before the race I tried to quit. That wasn’t the first time I wanted to quit during the 16 week training program.

This wasn’t my first race but it was the first race I ever trained for. The pressure I put on myself to not disappoint me, my partner, my coach, my gym community was overwhelming. It really wasn’t that serious. Why was I freaking out?

When something makes my throat burn, my stomach knot, and my palms sweat… THOSE are the things I know I need to say yes to. When my body enters fight or flight over things that are not life or death, those are the challenges I need to face. When I say yes when my gut says no, I grow.

Completing #hyrox with my husband was one of the best decisions I ever made. I grew closer to myself, Eugene, and my community! What a gift!

Thank you to my husband or being an amazing partner on the track, my coach @jbxxviii, the entire @foundry_sd community, and the best cheer squad @aarzi @nmisabella @rebecahoelck @karenkennedy8 🖤
