Rock your (guitar) body ✨🪨 A closer look at how I worked through designing my Geology inspired guitar.

// Ideation Phase // Time frame: 2 weeks
I began by drawing as many initial sketches as possible, exploring many different inspirations and styles of guitars. By analyzing the mockups for their strengths and weaknesses, I chose 3 of my strongest ideas to render. I then worked through my peer’s and professor’s critiques, further analyzing the material and assembly process my guitar would require. I then completed another stage of sketching and material research, leading me to my final rendering, and full-scale foam core model.

Splashing into User Experience and Exhibit design 🐳 While designing for Futures Studios, sponsored by the University of Southern Mississippi, I created a park that teaches people of all ages about Marine Life Science. 👩🏻‍🔬🔬

Dr. Julie, at USM, worked closely with us to develop her dream of bringing science to people’s homes and local public spaces. I began by researching educational activities and interactions people enjoy, followed by ideating ways to deliver this experience. 🕹️🐙 Much of my attention was on technology we have today, such as AR and VR, and how this could be integrated into my work. 👓 I also payed close attention to environmental factors, and created an experience that helps users leave the environment better than they found it. 🌼🐢 This project was wrapped up with a final presentation, where I delivered scaled models of my exhibit designs on a site map to be used in a proposal to the Mayor and city planners. 🖌️🏗️

Learning about product photography 🎥 Here’s a little experiment showing how lighting impacts the emotion and focus of a design! 🔬💡I enjoy flipping through these and reflecting on how the lighting used in advertising I consume influences my decisions as a consumer. 🫣

Here, I used an existing SolidWorks model (not my work) and changed the environment. Variables included angle of lights, their location, intensity/brightness, background color and the number of lights. 🧪 Thanks for reading me nerd-out about design! 🤓

The warmer weather reminds me of this Stacking Wicker Chair I designed in SolidWorks, and rendered in KeyShot. ✨🌙 A fun fact, I was inspired by Waning Crescent Moons when designing the back!🪑💫 This was an amusing challenge for considering different metal fabrication processes. 🔩

The Duck Days are Over 🪩🦆 Fun little floss built in Solidworks and rendered in Keyshot! :)

Enjoyed turning something not fun (flossing) into something a bit more enjoyable! Inspired by Mr. Potato Head, this design features wings, and a face, which can be flipped about and removed.
