Wild Reverence Review!

♾️⭐️

I have been a huge fan of Rebecca Ross since I received A River Enchanted as my Book of the Month pick back in January 2022 (still a favorite today I must add). She is the most brilliant storyteller, carefully weaving the most intricate fantasies with themes of love, grief, family, and discovering one’s own path.

Wild Reverence is a prequel to the Letters of Enchantment duology set hundreds of years before the events of Divine Rivals. While the duology is a YA series, Wild Reverence offers readers a more mature approach to this world as an Adult standalone fantasy.

I truly have never read a book like this. Ross has such an incredible ability to craft stories that are uniquely magical and deep and she surprises me every time.

This book was simply marvelous, an absolute triumph of love and loss. Of vulnerability and strength. Of knowing and unknowing the ways of our world and how we fit into it. Once again, Ross shows us that to be loved is to be known. Matilda and Vincent’s story is truly a tale for the ages and completing this book is so bittersweet. I never wanted it to end, but all great stories must come to and end eventually.

Rebecca, you are absolutely brilliant. A shining star among writers and I’m thrilled that I get to exist at the same time as such incredible works of art. I cannot wait for this book to officially release so I can annotate my own copy.

thank you to Netgalley for opening this up to read for a brief time and thank you to my wonderful friend @goodreadswithlex for letting me know it was available to read (and reading it with me) otherwise I would’ve missed it.

While we all patiently (or not) wait for Wild Reverence, let’s be sure to show some love to Rebecca’s other books! @beccajross is my favorite fantasy author and her Elements of Cadence duology is unlike anything i’ve ever read. She also has some incredible standalone books that deserve just as much love and attention that the Letters of Enchantment duology received!

Rapid Review Time!

The end of summer has been a very busy time for me (all good things), so I haven’t made the time to post much here!

To make up for it, here’s some reviews!

buddy read with @claireisagrisha

The writing in this story is positively delicious. I was hanging on to each word. You can tell this author loves language with the way she eloquently describes what could be the most basic detail.

This book reminds me of a slightly upscale hallmark movie. It has all the makings of a cozy cheesy film. The beautiful French vineyard setting, American city girl meets French man, some secret spicy escapades in the vines. But it’s all told through a more intellectual and beautifully personal perspective.

Each character is so unique and told in a way that really brings them to life. Pietro and his Italian part boy aesthetic, Ruby and her kind Australian accent always lending a listening ear, Julian and stoic German-ness. And of course our main male love interest Henri, who is sweet and talkative and feels just as stuck and stagnant as our FMC Alice does.

Their connection is obvious from the start, like a spark to a flame. And usually this kind of quick attraction bordering on insta-love is not for me. But something about the way these two seemingly lost souls found each other just tastes sweet.

I really loved that this story was structured around the events of one night. It’s funny because I can’t stand insta love as a trope but I feel like this wasn’t like that.

This story explores the connection between Shera and Max during a single night together. Shera was originally supposed to meet another man for a date, but when he was a no-show, Max King swooped in.

Shera is wary, of course, of Max and his persistence. But instead of sulking the night away she lets her heart guide her and explore this new connection.

Max and Shera both have really deep and complicated histories and seeing them slowly reveal themselves was so fascinating. It felt like they had known each other forever.

I am loving these 831 stories! If you haven’t picked one up yet, then take this as by @madison_isreading

I loved her first book so much, and of course Joss blew this one out of the water.

Marsh and Lucy are now two pieces of my heart.

Their story is like what if a book was How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, but they are both using each other for different reasons. It took fake dating to a whole other angsty and deliciously romantic level.

Their broken pieces put together create a beautiful puzzle. They just fit.

Love is beautiful and suffocating and scary. It’s putting everything you are out on the line and saying “this is who i am, take it or leave it.” It’s rarely ever kind, but it’s oh so worth it. Love doesn’t have to make sense to everyone. Each person’s experience with love is going to look and feel different from the person next to them. Sometimes it’s not as clear cut as a perfect job, perfect house, and perfect kids. Sometimes it’s just sharing all of the ugly parts of yourself and hoping someone holds them safely.

Lucy and Marsh mean the world to me. I don’t know how she does it, but Joss has written another absolutely wonderful book.

I’m so honored and thrilled to have received an ARC of this book. Thank you so much to @netgalley as well as @ballantinebooks and @dellromance !

Let’s Kiss and Tell is out NOW! as in TODAY!! Please please please go check this out. I promise you won’t regret it! by @madison_isreading

𖤓˚࿔ Scandal of the Summer 𖦹°·𓇼

The most wonderfully summery adventure-filled romance! Immensely grateful to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC!

This is my second Alexandra Vasti book and i’ve had a splendid time with it! I’m a huge fan of historical romances and this one truly takes the cake.

If you like yearning and pirates, then this is the book for you! Malcolm Archer puts the yearn in yearning! He is more yearner than pirate by the end of it all and I love it!

Our FMC, Ruby, is tenacious and brilliant and brave. It is not easy to be who you are in a world that works to make you feel small, but Ruby never let that diminish her sparkle. I adore her so much.

I can’t wait to explore more of Vasti’s books!

Scandal of the Summer is out NOW! if you are a Will Turner girlie than pick up this book! trust me by @madison_isreading

𖤓 。𖦹° Glow Job ‧ ⋆☀︎.

what can i say, it’s not really summer until I have a Kristen Bailey book in my hands!

Like the other books of hers I’ve read, Glow Job is laugh out loud funny! She truly puts the “com” in “romcom” and I eat it up every single time.

But there’s not just humor, Kristen always finds a way to dive deep into her characters. You care for them and their hardships and want to see them succeed. You really root for them and this book is no different.

@kristenbaileywrites you are killing it as always. I’m so thrilled to be a part of your book tour again!

thank you to @netgalley and @stormbooks_co for the ARC!

Happy Pub Day to one of my faves this year!!

I was so so lucky to be able to receive an ARC of this book from @netgalley Truly was mind blown when I got that email.

Lana, my heart is in your hands at all times. @lanafergusonwrites is one of those authors that just clearly has so much fun with her books. Her characters are fun and silly, but still have so much depth and Jack & Abby are no different!

I’m so excited that they are out in the world today! I can’t wait to see what everyone thinks of them.

↟𖠰˚☀︎ Chase Me If You Can ᨒ↟𖠰

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been chasing the high that the Twisters movie gave you since it came it out. Don’t worry, Heather Frances has us covered with this book!

This was the perfect storm chasing romance to fill the tornado shaped hole in my heart that Twisters left.

The banter? off the charts. the spice? HOT! the storm chasing anecdotes? informational and entertaining. the chronic migraine representation? so incredibly validating.

Our FMC Sloane is the most eldest daughter to ever eldest daughter. Caring for yourself begins to feel like a selfish act when it should be anything but. I loved watching her character grow stronger with each page.

oh and Wes. officially a new favorite book boyfriend. He is the definition of fell first and harder. Everything about him was wonderful. The snarky banter, the slight accent, the groveling when he messes up, the tattoos?!?! I need a Wes asap!!

Heather, thank you for mending my Twisters heart. Now i’m going to go rewatch the movie for the thousandth time. @heatherfrancesauthor

Thank you to @netgalley and @berkleypub for the ARC!

°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*: Tropesick ・°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

I had the pleasure of receiving an arc for this book! so thank you @netgalley @avonbooks and @harpervoyagerus for the arc!

This was like Ashley Poston’s magical realism meets Alone With You in the Ether. The characters are so incredibly flawed and so wonderfully human.

This was my first Lauren Okie book and it truly was whirlwind experience. I haven’t been this shocked by a story in a long time. Some many little twists that simultaneously left me aching for more and dying to close the book forever before more hurt and pain could find these characters.

This book tackles some heavy topics like grief/loss and addiction and it does so with care and compassion. I loved the way that their history slowly unfolds before you. The book starts with a nod to an uncomfortable past with a tragic loss and some unresolved emotions, but we don’t quite know how it all comes together until the ends. As we get to know Katie and Tyler, and as they relearn each other, we slowly uncover bits and pieces of their past to reveal the full picture. It’s not pretty and far from easy, but it’s worth discovering.

The most shocking part of this novel was the magical realism element. I truly had no idea that this book contained that kind of plot device and that shock made it all the better. I was jaw dropped, gasping aloud kind of shocked. A part of me is dying to reread it to see if I can catch the little hints to this storyline.

I absolutely adored this book and I cannot wait to pick up Okie’s debut novel The Best Worst Thing.

Tropesick by @laurenokieauthor is out NOW!! so go read it!!!
