I can’t put into words how much today means to me. I rang the bell, still unsure of what the road ahead looks like, but I rang it nonetheless. For five months, we showed up. We fought. We danced. We chemo slayed. And today, we got to celebrate it.

I’m beyond thankful for every coworker, friend, and family member who showed up for me today (thanks to my twin @morganavritt for coordinating the surprise) and for everyone who has carried me, loved me, prayed for me, and supported me through these last five months. I truly could not have done this without you. The road ahead is still long (surgeries, radiation, immunotherapy) and there are plenty of unknowns, but today I’m letting myself celebrate this win.

@thekatiethurston talking about hormone health and cancer really resonates with me. I had to ask multiple times to receive a medication that could prevent me from being in permanent menopause at 31 years old. I know the priority is beating cancer, but I wish there was more focus on what comes after. I wish more consideration was given to protecting our bodies and our quality of life so that when we do make it through treatment, we aren’t left dealing with things that potentially could have been prevented. #cancer #breastcancerawareness #advocate #hormones taken in Nashville, Tennessee by @madisonavritt
