A huge thank you to @danecountyems Kailey and Courtney (and helper pup Margot) for coming out and training our staff on overdose prevention and some basic first aid! It feels good to be prepared to help our community in the event of an emergency, and to learn from people who are so passionate about harm reduction! by @madisonsourdough

We need your gently loved coats and winter gear! We are hosting a collection bin for Community Action Coalition’s Winter Glow annual coat drive. Let’s fill this friend up with something other than a lovely barista and help keep families warm this winter! by @madisonsourdough

It was a magical weekend sharing Bickford wheat at the Variety Showcase in Cold Spring, NY! This is the first new wheat to come out of WI in decades, bred by UW Madison with both farmers and bakers giving input in over 10 years of crosses and trials. Madison Sourdough was proud to host some of those baking trials, and to now share it with the public through the Variety Showcase. Drew made a brioche and a sourdough batard, both with 100% Bickford wheat, which we served alongside chefs and bakers from across the country, each highlighting their own new organic grain, vegetable, or fruit. Thank you @culinarybreedingnetwork and @glynwoodorg for hosting us and putting on such a special event! by @madisonsourdough

We will be closing early Friday, 1/30, to enable and encourage staff to attend the march and rally protesting unconstitutional and immoral ICE tactics in Minnesota and across the country. Our kitchen will close at 1:30, cafe closing at 2pm. Profits from earlier in the day will be donated to Voces de la Frontera.

There will be a student walk out gathering at Library Mall at 2pm, followed by a march to the capitol and a rally there at 3:30. If you are as concerned as we are about federal agents’ disregard for due process and basic human rights, we hope you’ll bust out your cardboard and sharpies and join us at the capitol. by @madisonsourdough
