This past month involved MUCH advocacy, from our Mothers Rally early in Aug, to our Safer Birth NY Coalition developing recommendations to best address NYC’s #maternalhealthcrisis ; we had a meeting and presentation for NYC’s Women's Caucus, Black, Latino and Asian Caucus, Committee on Women & Gender Equity, and Committee on Health!!

Among many recommendations made, #nycfamilies deserve #morebirthingoptions and #safebirthing sites! #WEDESERVEBIRTHCENTERS This #problem has existed long before COVID-19 and the BLM movement, and New York’s Birthing people have struggled to access affordable and respectful care! 🌺 @birthingplacebx 🌺 is doing our small part to create big change.

State Senator and Health Committee Chairman Gustavo Rivera’s office is considering ways to collaborate as we rally to expedite the passing the Midwife-Led Birth Center Bill (info is linked in Bio) - we’ll keep you posted on this! And prior to that Assemblywoman Latoya Joyner expressed a strong desire to help us find more funding to #MAKETHISHAPPEN

Meanwhile we continue to appreciate #communitysupport. Please give or share 💸 to #helpthiscause 💖 Our newly established #grantwriting team wants to highlight how much our community is behind us!!! If we can raise 100K in the next couple months, this will speak volumes.
