“The best is yet to come… once in a lifetime, a chance to explore, the future is waiting like an open door.”

This is the most bittersweet announcement I have the honor of sharing. A little over three weeks ago, I celebrated my seven-year anniversary with Walt Disney World. Today marks the beginning of my last five weeks with the company. I will be starting my Doctor of Audiology program this August, at Washington University in St. Louis-School of Medicine. Not only is @washupacs my dream program, but I am incredibly blessed to be attending with a nearly 50% tuition reduction!

I am just so grateful to all my friends and family who supported me throughout the application process. Specifically thank you to my mom for all the time she spent reading and helping me edit my essays; and thank you to my best friend @sarah_wealthychicken for reading my essays on top of providing all the emotional support I needed through every step of the way. All glory to God for answering my many prayers. His timing is truly perfect and I am excited to continue on the path He has laid out for me. There will be sappier posts to come as I inevitably face all of the emotions that come with leaving the job, the people, and the home that have carried me through most of my 20s. For now, I’m just cherishing all these last few weeks will bring.

“Huh, what a cute ending.”

Muppet*Vision 3D has truly been one of my favorite attractions, unironically, for as long as I can remember. The Muppets have been a huge part of my life in general. I grew up watching Muppet/Jim Henson movies, I remember being allowed to display my mom’s vintage Muppet Babies under my Christmas tree and being jealous I couldn’t keep them, and I even named my pet rabbit after two muppet creatures… Fizzgig from The Dark Crystal, and Bean Bunny.

Muppet*Vision has been a staple at Hollywood/MGM Studios for longer than I’ve been alive, and although the area has undergone slight changes (been missing that balloon for a while, thanks a lot SWGE), the show has been a constant comfort. I have spent many evenings catching a show to decompress after a shift, as well as countless sweltering afternoons taking advantage of the AC and Fozzie’s “act of mercy” 😉

While I’m excited for The Muppets to make history again by having their first rollercoaster, I’ll find myself forever waiting to see Sam Eagle’s glorious 3-hour finale. But who knows, once the coaster opens maybe, MAYBE BEAN can set off the fireworks!

♾️ Forever Young ♾️
I figure before November is over I should make a birthday post 😅 A couple weeks ago I celebrated turning 27 by spending the day in St. Augustine with my best friend! We visited (and drank from) the Fountain of Youth, so I guess I’ll be 27 forever 🥳 Then I was surprised with drinks at the CUTEST rubber duck themed bar!!! And of course we ended the night with the most appropriate cake for this birthday 😉

Thank you to everyone who’s sent me birthday wishes over these past two weeks, I’m so lucky to have so many loving people in my life. I celebrate a friendship that has endured many seasons, many peaks and valleys, and many living-quarters moves. “A journey beyond your wildest imagination.”
•
Never in my wildest imagination could I have pictured this opportunity. I had no idea this show even had standbys until the reopening cast rehearsals, nor did I think then that I would ever be chosen out of such an insanely talented group of people to take on such a demanding role.
The month of February was a whirlwind to say the least! It was filled with several highs and lows, so many overnights, and lots and LOTS of hard work. Fantasmic! has always held a special place in my heart, and now it holds a special (and huge) place in my brain 😅
Grateful doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel… for the love and support of my friends and family, for the support and encouragement from the entire creative team of Maintenance Choreographers and our Show Director, and for my fellow Standbys and cast mates for pouring all their hearts and souls into each rehearsal right alongside me. All Glory and Honor to God for bringing this show, these roles, and so many incredible people into my life.
From 26-year-old Maddie, this one is for 5-year-old, 18-year-old, and 24-year-old Maddie. I can’t wait to continue living out some pretty fantastic dreams ✨💫

2023 was a crazy year, to say the least. Here are just a few highlights ❤️
• Visited my Godson (who I’ll start 2024 with) 🥰
• My Godmother and her daughter came to Disney for Abby’s senior year dance nationals (and they saw Olaf 🤍)
• Fantastic dreams came true!!! 🏔️
• Saw my favorite show from a whole new perspective 😉 🎆
• Spent my first casting half up at the castle with my favorite snowman (and half with a lil raccoon on a steamboat) 🏰
• Brought home my beautiful baby bunny, Fizzgig Bean 🐰
• Celebrated my hometown homegirl at her Bachelorette party in Grand Rapids 🍾
• Experienced the Behind the Seeds tour with @sarah_wealthychicken for our 3rd Friendiversary 💕
• Stood by @sarah_stiner ‘s side as she married her best friend 💍
• Collected SO MUCH CANDY at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 🍬
• Caught up with my former high school band and orchestra on their Disney trip (and had some pretty amazing supporters in the crowd at Fantasmic!) ❤️
• Sang in 12 Candlelight Processional shows with 6 INCREDIBLE celebrity narrators 🕯️
