A few shots from this winter so far - all taken from the backyard. It’s been a pretty cool experience living on a mountain and watching the season unfold firsthand: storms, crazy cloud formations, vibrant sunrises and sunsets. My new favourite though, has been the Fata Morgana illusion that appears on inversion days, causing some pretty sick distortions on the distant mountains. taken in North Vancouver, British Columbia by @madyhart

Hi all, I have a print store now! 🎉

The prints will be released in small collections with limited quantities up for grabs. The first collection is a tribute to oceans, featuring 9 shots taken around Panama, Oregon, British Columbia, and Mexico.

I’ll be donating $4 from each print sold to The Surfrider Foundation (@surfrider). Their work plays a crucial role in safeguarding and preserving the world’s oceans, waves, and beaches for everyone to enjoy. 🌊💙

Well, hard to believe it but here we are. The end of a pretty big chapter.

It’s hard to find the photos and clips to sum up 4.5 years, but here’s a few. When I started at @grousemountain , I never expected it to become such a home to me.. and quite literally, having had the opportunity to live in a cabin on the mountain for the last two years.

Thank you for believing in a super keen 21 year old version of me who had a lot to learn in this whole photo and film biz (and still does). And at the unavoidable risk of sounding cliche, thank you to all the people who made this place feel so special. It’s been a privilege to help grow this role and tell stories in a place I care so much about. I’m leaving with a lot of good memories, gratitude, and way too many photos and videos of this place.

FACES BEHIND THE FILM - MADY

@madyhart is a Vancouver-based filmmaker and photographer, and the Director of Photography & Editor behind Carving Space.

With a deep love for the outdoors and the people who find meaning there, Mady is drawn to stories that inspire connection, curiosity, and adventure. Through Shredcatz, she helped bring these women’s stories to life behind the camera, in the edit, and through the story itself.

We’re stoked to have had Mady as the final piece of the crew behind the series.

Been trying to take more photos for myself lately, so a little backpacking trip with friends was a pretty good excuse to bring the camera along. Some favs from a few days weaving along the coast, tide pool exploring, whale spotting, and getting to know the local wasp population (don’t recommend). taken in Vancouver Island, BC, Canada by @madyhart

Winter archives from the camera roll that I never got around to sharing:

Winter started with releasing my second short doc and taking it on a little tour over the fall/winter with @drb_82 , lots of days in the resort and the backcountry with friends, a trip to SK with @shredcatz , speaking on a panel with @peakperformancenam for International Women’s Day, and wrapping things up with a project for @snowboardcanada (coming soon!).

“Traveling with the Pocketdispo has been such a fun experiment - it’s tiny, lightweight, and easy to carry. The fixed-focus lens encourages me to be more intentional with each shot, allowing me to slow down and really notice my surroundings.

It’s perfect for capturing the small, in-between moments that often tell the story of a trip better than anything planned.
