Wrapping up May bouquets in the next couple weeks and starting June before this baby makes its arrival. I had set a goal to be done with July brides before baby - HA! a process that shall not be rushed. Worth the wait I think 🤍

Working with this medium has been such a learning experience for me. As much as I want every piece to be perfect, there’s something humbling about working with resin and natural flowers. Nature is imperfect, and this process isn’t always as predictable as I wish it were.

My goal is to create pieces without air bubbles, but sometimes, especially with darker flowers, those bubbles can be more visible. It’s something I always disclose to my brides. While I do everything I can to prevent them, they can happen, and that doesn’t make the disappointment any less valid.

These pieces are ones I’m incredibly proud of, and I truly believe they’re beautiful. But air became trapped in the lower parts of some flowers, leaving more visible spots in the red roses than I’m comfortable with. Unfortunately, attempting a repair carries a greater risk of damaging the piece than leaving it as it is.

I know this bride is understandably disappointed, and I hope she can still see the beauty alongside the flaws. I’ll make sure she’s compensated because I believe in taking responsibility for my work and making things right.

I also want to remind people that there’s a human being behind the art. I’m an artist, not a machine, and while I’m constantly working toward the best results, this process isn’t a perfect science.

Art is art. Sometimes imperfections become part of what makes a piece unique. That doesn’t mean we should pretend flaws aren’t there or that disappointment isn’t valid. Both things can be true: a piece can be beautiful and still fall short of what we hoped.

I think it’s important to share the learning side of this work, too. I get so many questions about my process, and some of the most valuable lessons are the ones you have to experience yourself. I’m still learning, growing, and evolving, and there’s something special about admitting that.

I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts on these pieces. I think they’re beautiful, and I’m proud of them. But if I were a bride and noticed those bubbles in my flowers, I know I’d feel disappointed, too.

Two earring posts back to back! ✨
This week I ran out of the resin I use for my preservation pieces and while I was waiting for it to arrive I hunkered down and make some gorgeous earrings! Featured in these photos are a blue tone & pink tone abalone shell earring, blue hydrangea drops, and purple hydrangea cathedral dangles. I’m so obsessed with all of these.
I’m really setting a goal to get 100 pairs made my Nov 8 in hopes they all sell out!! A maternity leave fund if you will 😂

It has been far too long since I’ve released an earring collection, so here we are! The first appearance - Plum Orchids 🤍

I’m officially 7 weeks away from welcoming a new baby into this world, and now that my husband and I are a working team, I finally have a little more time to put into creating beautiful jewelry for my friends again. It feels SO good to be making things just because I love making them.

Working together and having more time has been such a gift, but like anything, there are definitely some downsides too. One of those is that neither of us really gets family leave. So my hope with this collection is that it can act as a little financial cushion for us, so we can hopefully take a few weeks away from working like crazy and just soak up those newborn days and adjust to being a family of 4.

Life changes so fast. Sometimes it feels really hard to keep up with it all.

So, consider this my maternity leave drop!

This will be the ONLY earring drop for the rest of the year, and I plan to make it a BIG one. I’ll have MAK X MINI hand-painted earrings, tons of floral jewelry, and lots of pieces that would make the sweetest Christmas gifts, birthday gifts, or just a little treat for yourself.

Mark your calendars: Sunday, November 8th at NOON EST.

Hopefully this baby doesn’t decide to come before then. With my luck…who knows.

Okay, seriously… is this heaven?! 🥹 @themeadowcny is truly such a gift to Upstate NY!

I’m so thankful to have the weight lifted off my shoulders of constantly hunting down dahlias, especially with some of the bridal dahlias I’ve been receiving arriving shriveled or falling apart.

I always make sure my brides know when I’m offering a replacement flower, so having this gorgeous stockpile of dahlias now makes me SO happy. 🤍

This piece ended up taking quite a bit more time and care than I originally anticipated, but seeing it finished and knowing she’ll be so happy with it makes it all feel worth it. While the situation was something I had hoped to avoid ( and did my best to prevent)sometimes things simply unfold the way they’re meant to. In those moments, all you can do is give it your best, move forward with kindness, and trust that everything will work out in the end. 💛
