There could only ever be one first Alderhaus box and I always knew it could only ever have been for her.

My first baby. The one who made me a mother.

Today, on Mother’s Day, I finally placed the very first Alderhaus box into her hands.
Inside is her preserved wedding bouquet by @maedbymini and a photograph from the quiet moments before she married @mread15. But the heart of the gift was never really about the objects themselves. It was about preservation.

I think motherhood is a lifelong act of trying to preserve what we love most.
The little moments. The changing seasons. The way your child can somehow look exactly the same and completely different all at once.
As I stood outside the getting-ready room watching Gabby before her ceremony, I could still see the little girl with bouncing curls and wide brown eyes standing there beside the woman she had become.

Maybe that’s motherhood.

Watching.
Remembering.
Holding on while learning to let go.

To Gabby, Evan, Avery, James, and Claire, thank you for making my life so full of love and meaning. You are the most treasured parts of my life, and being your mom will always be the greatest gift I’ve ever been given.

There’s something really special about seeing a piece leave my studio and become part of someone’s story. And even more special when that someone is a person you’ve grown to bond deeply with over art for the last five years ❤️
These Cascading Blooms were made just for her: soft movement, layered petals, and that quiet kind of romance that feels ethereal and otherworldly. Doesn’t she look like Arwen?! Ugh, so in love.

And if you look closely, there’s a bass fish hidden within the blooms. This was a tribute to her brother who passed a few years ago, reminding Lauren he is still with her ❤️
Seeing them worn with her dress felt like everything came full circle.
Thank you for trusting me with something so personal on such an important day.

Lauren + Taylor 🤍

What a dream it was to capture my beautiful friend’s wedding last October. The entire night was overflowing with love, laughter, and celebration. From belly laughs to tears, heartfelt speeches, and Lauren’s niece’s show-stopping performance of “At Last” for L + T, every moment was pure joy.

To know Taylor, Lauren and Josephine is to love them (sooo sooo much) 🤍

📕 Syracuse artist Lauren Wallace (@maedbymini) has published a book about crafting polymer clay jewelry, with expert tutorials, clay mixing and hand-painting techniques.

While some artists keep their secrets close, Wallace is “ready to give away” all her clay-related knowledge as she shifts her business toward floral preservation.

Wallace’s book is available to buy now at @goldenbeebookshop and Barnes and Noble.

THAT'S MY GIRL!

Y'ALL, I have been waiting months to get my hands on this bad boy! When I found out that one of my favorite makers was WRITING A BOOK... I knew it was going to be uh-mazing!

I met Lauren through our mutual businesses shortly after opening my shop. I fell in love with her work years ago, and it just keeps getting better. She is as sweet as she is talented. Always a kind word and deed to give. I just adore her. I couldn't be more proud of my lil internet, small biz friend. She has made a rainbow after the rain with this book. A reminder that beautiful things can still come after a storm.
