What a journey. 🤎

When I started Brown Sugar Babe in 2018, I was still working at Bank of America, building this business alongside my career and figuring things out one day at a time.

I look at that woman now and think about everything she couldn’t see yet. She didn’t have investors or a blueprint for what was ahead. She just had an idea she believed in enough to keep building.

Last year, Brown Sugar Babe reached $21 million in revenue.

There are moments in entrepreneurship that make you stop and realize just how far you’ve come.

I’m proud of what we’ve built, and I’m grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey. And we’re still building. 🤎

Some weekends are for rest. Others are for recharging. And sometimes, you find both in community.

There’s something special about being surrounded by other founders and creatives. People who understand what it means to build, create, dream big, and carry the weight that often comes with it.

Finding people you can share a listening ear with, laugh with, or simply feel understood by is its own kind of recharge.

When we first started the Scent Soirée, the mission was simple: travel across the country and bring fragrance lovers together.

Over the years, it’s become more than we could have imagined. We’ve watched people travel to join us, turn online friendships into real ones, meet someone new over a shared love of fragrance, dance, laugh and simply have a day to let their hair down.

It’s become a safe space, a party and a community, and we’re just grateful to have a part in creating the space for it.

Dallas was another beautiful stop! Having @influxious.co in the building made it even more special. @funmimonet we are all so proud of you!

When I take a moment to reflect, I’m reminded of how far this journey has come.

There was a time when attending @essencefest wasn’t within reach. This past weekend, @brwnsugarbabe proudly joined Essence Festival of Culture as an official sponsor, bringing Club BSB IRL to NOLA, hosting our Scent Soirée, introducing PRIVÉ to our community, and featuring upcoming French Kiss as the scent of the night.

Moments like these remind me that growth takes time. The milestones we celebrate today are often the result of years of showing up, staying committed, and believing in the vision long before anyone else sees it.

If you’re building something of your own, keep going. Progress isn’t always immediate, but consistency has a way of opening doors you once only dreamed of walking through.
