In 2023 I took a chance on doing something I’ve wanted to do since 2017 and attended my first @campjohnwaters. It is hard to explain how much of an impact JW has had in my life, so camp was an obvious endeavor for me. I didn’t know anybody, and it was pretty intimidating, but I ended up making some of the greatest memories and friends. I met my now lifelong friends @jblytheart and @christinamcgrath_ almost immediately and we formed Troop Hor**y Collins. @joshiku , @imkellycollins , and @galvineyesdesign to the troop (recently featured in the WSJ). I’ve also made close to home friends like @mixtapeyourlife and @katioagogo Although I’ve grown closer to some people than others, I consider all of the 400-some weirdo campers to be family. I’m sad it’s over, but so glad it happened and that I was able to be a part of it. I was lucky enough to attend CJW for four years, earning my “Filth Graduation Diploma Certificate of Dishonor”. I don’t know what will come next for my filthy family, the words of John (aka Dad), himself, “we promise you, outside world, we will never let you rest in peace.” by @maeschwest

Hakuna Matata?
Yeah, it’s our motto. What’s a motto? Nothin’, what’s a motto with you? taken in Munich, Bavaria, Germany by @maeschwest

Wowie zowie! My birthday weekend celebration was one for the books. @happyeverything_art planned me a wonderful party at the historic @thestonewallinn (with an epic candle that I didn’t know how to work). I got to see @rockyhorrorbway with fellow Frank and great friend, @thejcm. I got to see @dogdaybway (Attica!) and @ohmaryplay a third time (Hannah and Simu!). I’m the luckiest boy in the world with the coolest/best people that I am fortunate enough to call friends and the best partner anybody could ask for (who sits through endless shows for me). 💜 Thank you to everyone who made this weekend so special. taken in New York City by @maeschwest

Reporting back. It was glorious. Beautiful. Sad. Happy. And as @maeschwest said to me when I saw the first half from the movie a year ago and I told him it has changed me forever and I need to know if Elphaba is ok… he said I think “you’ll be satisfied.” I was. In the most bittersweet way. To be misunderstood. Sweet Elphaba. Never felt so seen. 💚💚💚💚💚
