I can’t believe our final weekend of debachery is almost here. I’m so grateful I feel safe enough to leave Red Beans bc this weekend is special. I’ve made the most amazing friends I’ve had the best adventures. I don’t even want to think we are only doing this one more time. But, let’s make it the best one yet. See you soon, Campers. 🩷💕🩷💚 Troop Horny Collins Loves You. 💚💜💕💚🩷

This is your sign to hot glue some garland and a Christmas tree to a headband and add some fairy lights to brighten your mood and holiday. Whatever it takes y’all. Whatever it takes. 🩷🩷🩷🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼

Really pushing myself this year to have some radical queer joy. It’s the small things that are the big ones. Movies and decorating starts now. 🎄🎄🎄🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼🩷🩷🩷🩷

Reporting back. It was glorious. Beautiful. Sad. Happy. And as @maeschwest said to me when I saw the first half from the movie a year ago and I told him it has changed me forever and I need to know if Elphaba is ok… he said I think “you’ll be satisfied.” I was. In the most bittersweet way. To be misunderstood. Sweet Elphaba. Never felt so seen. 💚💚💚💚💚

Some of my favorite parts of Camp are all of the creative people and coming up with costume ideas and creating visions for outfits and parties for Troop Horny Collins (THC). We kind of all throw some ideas around and build on them and I deeply look forward to how they come together! 🩷🩷💕💕💕

Ok… last of Camp for a bit because I have to jump into work mode. 💕💗 But I am still on a high and carrying all the memories and fun with me forever. I love that Camp ends the summer for so many of us. It brings me into a fresh season and new perspective. Here’s some things I learned about myself this summer that I’m carrying with me.
💗I will never be enough for some people, I may be too much for others, but I will be just right for the right people.
💗My openness to love and new experiences is at an all time high. No expectations, no idea how it may turn out… just flowing, fluidly.
💗 I will continue to be kind to unkind people because that’s who I am. And I like me.
💗I am my best self when I am vulnerable. My trauma does not define me. But it shapes me. And I’m grateful for those on my journey who I feel comfortable enough sharing with.
💗 I will always look for the helpers, be a helper and be attracted to the helpers.
💗 Growing means letting go of how you thought things might turn out and embracing how they are turning out.
💗 Choosing joy, choosing love… whenever I can.
💗 And living in immense gratitude for my small circle, life in New York and dreams I’m manifesting.

Happy fall y’all. Let’s end this year with a bang. And a Kamala Harris presidency. Love. Creating! Art! All of the best things! 💗💗💗💕💕💕💕💕❤️💕

Welcome to the Freak Show 🤡🎪🔪😳
The best part about Camp is that everyone is so unapologetically who they are. The last night of camp is always a themed dinner with a dance party after.

About the headdress: I wanted a headstone. I had been crafting a CECIL B. DEMENTED headdress for a few days in anticipation of theme- painting a headstone, blood splattering, adding dead flowers. When we learned it was freak show, I added a circus vibe. And one of my favorite lines from the movie “DEATH TO Mainstream CINEMA” although that movie has so many great one liners. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ So sad camp is over. This freak is having withdrawals on all my new friends, adventures and crushes.

Also, I can not look at my friend @joshiku without cracking up. 🤣😭

Literally spent Friday the 13th at Camp Crystal Lake 😳😱🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪🩸🩸🩸🩸

I thought I was a Final Girl but apparently… I didn’t make it. I did remember to wear a sexy nightie though. 🩸🔪

More camp shenanigans. We love a horror trope. That’s why we all chose different characters- a sleepy sorority girl, Sydney, the mean jock, and the movie nerd.

The Wizard of ODD 💕💗👠👠👠💙
Fun fact… John Waters LOVES the Wizard of Oz. For many of us this was our first journey into cinematic exploration and adventure and it’s stuck with us our whole lives. Was so fun to recreate a Waters misfit spin on a classic.

As the cowardly lion, I crafted my headdress from a styrofoam base and filled it with a bunch of hair and depth. I wanted the lion to be approachable but shy. I don’t know what the hell I was doing with my makeup- Divine meets Drag Oz. 💗💕💙🤍❤️

To say that Camp John Waters is unforgettable is an understatement. Most of the memories I’ll carry with me are NSFW and that’s what life should really be about. All fun. All love.

I was so lucky to have my friends Jen, Christina, Alex and Sonni to share in this experience with me - a group of forward-thinking, loving and truly creative people! Our inaugural showing as “Troop Horny Collins” was a huge success. We definitely made a splash and are already looking forward to and planning for next year’s festivities!

I can’t recommend this getaway enough to John Waters fans, and to anyone looking for a raucous time with a community of open-minded and creative people. It’s fucking fabulous. Thank you John for creating a world unto your own, and to the staff at @clubgetaway for your hospitality and kindness. I can’t wait until @campjohnwaters 2025!
