a love letter to new york.
for the ones running on a new york minute.
the creatives with non linear paths.
the ones whose immigrant parents landed here and clawed their way through.
the multi hyphenates holding all of it together.
the 9 5ers and the 5 9ers.
this one is for you.
connect, collaborate, pause.
eleven eleven. relaunched. tonight.
where new york meets after work. by @maeshaeva

this is the math my parents never had access to so i’m giving it to you. and no you don't need to be a stock genius. buy VOO and chill. set it on autopilot and let time do the heavy lifting. harsh truth is the most expensive thing you’ll ever buy is time you didn’t invest.

wealthy women wait for no one.

#WealthyWednesdays by @maeshaeva

with so many new faces here after my recent reels, I wanted to reintroduce myself a little 👋🏽

1. I’m a solo travel girly at heart. I just got back from 2 months across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia; many of you found me through my solomoon series (Bali has my 🤍 forever). Travel has been my biggest teacher, and nothing makes me happier than seeing women book the flight, even when they’re afraid.

2. I’m first gen and one of the first women in my family to get an Ivy League degree. Education changed my life, and access to it is something I’ll always fight for.

3. At 17, I founded a nonprofit with my closest friends. For 6 years, we partnered with Microsoft & Columbia, helping middle schoolers dream bigger through STEM and networking.

4. I host tech, experiential, & community events for some of the most ambitious ppl. I built my second events company now known as @elevenelevenplace during Covid, we’re a third space designed to uplift & connect exciting NYers. Doing this with 9-5 careers in consulting & tech.

5. I started creating content in 2017 because South Asian girls deserved to see themselves in media, soft, powerful, messy, healing, ambitious, dreaming. I didn’t see it growing up, so I became it.

6. My work being featured in @businessinsider was a moment of true full circle gratitude. Something that began as a hobby turned into a community that has changed my life (which includes all of you).

7. I love to write. It’s how I process the world, through journaling, poetry, and storytelling from the South Asian + Muslim diaspora lens.

8. I believe in kindness, not the performative kind, but the quiet, everyday kind that makes someone feel safe. Hence you’ll always find small pep talks in my stories.

9. I’m in my rebuilding era. choosing myself after lots of life transitions, honoring my standards, and stepping into the woman I prayed to become. I truly believe you get to start over, again & again. as many times as you need to.

10. I’m passionate about helping women build abundant, self-defined lives. financially, emotionally, creatively because we’re rewriting the blueprint.

if you’re new here, welcome. im grateful you’re here🤍 by @maeshaeva

@raosharon and i brought together some of new york’s most exciting south asian founders, investors and operators for dinner ✨

the table was tech x healthcare x ai. clinicians, founders, and people from pharma, venture, private equity, banking and big tech, all in one room.

we talked about building in nyc. workshops and hackathons that turn ideas into real things. how to put capital back into first time founders. and where we even begin when it comes to building what this city needs next.

what stayed with me was more than intro conversations. it was the room. our people. founders, investors and operators building what’s next for new york, together, in the season of light.

that’s why eleven eleven place exists. here, the room is the point. we curate it with taste, but more than that, with the right people. people who give back to the table, bring a perspective you haven’t heard before, and actually want to know their peers. the energy each person brings matters.

this one came to life when sharon and i were planning our october round table and realized it landed right around diwali (and halloween).

thank you dr. kalra and ninetynineai for believing in this night, sharon for co hosting with me, and every single person who pulled up a chair. new beginnings, started with the right company.

happy diwali from our table to yours 🪔

p.s. if you’ve been seeking your people, the doers and builders, we want you at our table

the round table is our invite only dinner series for founders, investors & operators

the lobby is our open dinner series for 11 11 residents building squiggly careers across tech & the creator economy

if this speaks to you in any capacity, you’re in the right place dm @elevenelevenplace for deets on the next gathering

In light of Diwali, Maesha and I brought together some of New York City’s most incredible South Asian founders and investors for dinner, generously sponsored by Dr Raj Kalra MD and NNinetyNineAI!

I had exciting conversations with Dr. Kalra about what workflows clinicians will trust enough to change, which is the same conviction that we’re building with at @alterralabs.ai — that the frontier of clinical AI isn’t capability, it’s safety and alignment that clinicians can actually rely on.

Ayushi Sinha and I discussed why rigor in clinical AI models matter more as these systems get closer to our patients!

Kumar, Chethan, Jinsy and I got into what clinicians actually need from AI tools versus what gets built for them, and the work towards bringing demos out of silos into real world clinical integration.

Raj and I talked about what it takes to get early builders at Percepta working on real clinical problems through hackathons and hands-on building events.

Vrijen and I discussed about data in clinical AI and the quality available to most models.

Bhavik from Atria Health and Rohan, who’s building Asva, spoke about longevity, where medicine is headed, and the importance of treating prevention as a clinical discipline and not only a wellness category.

And thank you to Veda, D. J. Patel, Dhruv, Rhea and Kailash for bringing your insights from venture, investing, private equity and banking to the question of what compounds well in healthcare and AI.

Thank you to Sandeep, Priyanka, Aditi and Raksha for bringing your invaluable perspectives from pharma, venture, big tech and founding to the table!

Thank you all for an incredible evening. As we ring in Diwali and look toward new beginnings, I can’t think of a better room to have started them with! Happy Diwali from me, Maesha and Dr Raj Kalra! 🪔✨

#NYC #Explore #Diwali #HealthTech by @maeshaeva

this week I found out I’m the official speaker for the renaissance soirée by @mindfullysumaya at the plaza hotel. yes, the home alone 2 plaza.…….

9 year old me from the bronx would never believe where I’m speaking next.

back then, I lived in a multigenerational home with all of my first cousins. I moved out as soon as I turned 18 (that’s a story for another time), and I had to break down every single money belief I grew up with.

I’ve read sumayas message like 10 times and im still processing it.

this is a night for women to break their money beliefs and completely recalibrate their mindset, and I get to be on that stage alongside @mindfullysumaya telling my story. I still have so much to learn and so far to go, but everything it took to shift the reality I inherited, I’m bringing into *this* room.

on november 7th, we gather at the plaza for the renaissance soirée. afternoon tea in the palm court, then identity-shifting work backed by a neuroscience blueprint with sumaya.

I sure hope baby maesh is proud.

if you’re ready to be in this room DM @mindfullysumaya PLAZA and use my family and friends code ‘maesha’ by @maeshaeva

most dreams don’t die.
they just get abandoned.
usually right before the first yes.

allow me a second to get sappy, an official recap and all the good stuff will come soon. right now I wanted to share more so a reflection and why this particular dinner series was especially meaningful. as a creator entrepreneur and techie, i know how lonely this journey can feel. i spent years searching for the right community. the room where i didn’t have to explain why i’m building three things at once. living a squiggly life.
so i built it.

12 days ago, the lobby was an idea and a text blast. because of logistical challenges around finding the right venue, we almost had to cancel the whole thing or postpone it out a month. but something in my gut told me this will work.
there were no guarantees. just a core belief that the people building out loud in this city deserve a table of their own. surrounded by the most exciting builders just like them.
wednesday night we did just that, 20 seats filled.
creators. tech operators. founders. multi hyphenates who stopped apologizing for doing more than one thing. but we didn’t just eat together. it was a experience that involved everyone to be in conversation.

we opened with a tea ceremony and slowed down before we sped up.

then sat with @justanotherhappygirl founder of @prezrve for a fireside on building a squiggly career across content and business. the pivots. the detours (and unexpected challenges like your website literally breaking from too many waitlist signups)….the parts of the path that never make it to linkedin. how to actually grow a following, ship ideas.

the lobby is for the ones still in it.
still building. still showing up. and still saying yes to the room before they feel ready for it.

thank you to everyone who claimed a seat at @elevenelevenplace very first lobby dinner series. if you missed this one, the next table is already being set. once a quarter, one table where we can all pause. ill leave you with this: this night was everything and more. see you soon, i hope.
