Katie and I spent a week on the road. First with a drive through visit to Theodore Roosevelt in North Dakota on our way to stay two nights at Glacier followed by a day trip in Yellowstone on the way to two nights in Grand Tetons and finally the Badlands on our way home. It was beautiful. Mountains are something us flatlanders rarely see, and they really make you sit in awe of Mother Nature. I hear people give praise to god for the beauty on this earth and it enrages me because a dude in the sky couldn’t have created this. The beauty here is created by science, by the sheer will of a rock to exist even if a glacier is doing everything it can to shape, move or crush it. It’s created by waters need to find an expeditious route to its destination. It’s created in a lot of ways I don’t even comprehend, but it’s a system that works together, giving and taking and shaping what we have in front of us today which is breathtaking beauty. There are no words that can describe the gratitude I have to be able to see it with my own eyes. by @mag__doll

I almost camped too close to the sun twice this year. I took a solo trip to voyageurs and kayaked a short distance to my campsite and it was a lot! Worrying about bears and strangers and knowing I can’t hop in my car and get away, but it was worth it. It was beautiful and I survived so maybe next time I’ll be able to relax more. I also went camping in the cold and next time I’m getting an electric site and some electric blankets so I can enjoy the fall colors, northern lights and a good nights sleep. Anyway here are the pictures I took so I would romanticize it all and do it again 🦦 by @mag__doll

Leo season is behind us now and at some point in July I realized summer wouldn’t last so I decided to go up north as much as possible. We got to introduce our newest girl to the girls trips, and I went from south to north, Bayfield to Grand Portage, on the most magical Lake Superior. by @mag__doll

Cancer season is over. It was very good, I also cried a lot, over dumb things like love island. It felt like the week before my period the entire time 🦦 by @mag__doll

The clouds rolled in for the next few days along with a strong south wind and it made for some nice winter sounds. The wind on the frozen river, the cracking frozen trees as they get tossed around, sleeping grasses rustling around. Windy river hikes make me miss lac qui parle. The sounds that lake river make are so creepy and good. by @mag__doll
