Another run around the block eh!
Being here is a gat damn pleasure made by the folks around me.

Thank you for walking down this twisty trail with me, opening doors graciously and without hesitation, closing ones that were broken and busted and needn’t be fixed. It’s already been a year of expansion, dreaming, refining, and rewiring, with frankly lots of fuckery in between. And I eventually have come to appreciate all of it. Or at least I’m working on it lol…

Thanks for taking chances on me, it seems that I’ll be taking some chances on me this year too. I’m ready to roll the dice.

I gotta say, @rileynotryan never misses with anyone, but I’m sure as shit grateful he made this photo for me in the fall. I love that he captured me in my kooky gator claw necklace, it’s like it was calling me south like some sort of talisman. I like that I can see another year anchoring my eyes (I have sunny days and all you funny motherfuckers to thank for that) And in the glassy, classic collodion way, my gaze remains steadfast in believing the best is yet to come. Let’s goooo!

Happy birthday to my one true pookie @marielbuckley !

Since Aug 14th of last year you’ve covered a LOT of ground (and some water). Wow! You’re not tired, are you?

Thank goodness we still found some time for the adventures of 1-2 and 14-15. And because you made a 7 (available in additional formats!) you were booked and busy with a whole lotta 6,8,17 especially because people seemed to really dig it as proven by 10. Whatta trip! And then of course along the way we got hungry so we had to 4&18 and even a little thirsty so you had to 13. And because most things (including ticklebacks) are better with friends and fam, I’m glad you got a brief dose of 5,9,11-12. And lastly, some of my most favourite moments of all were the radical and scheduled coziness and laziness as seen in 16&19. Somehow space for a little bit of everything ♥️.

If anyone found this post confusing to read, no you didn’t, grow up. AI is gunna rot all of our brains if we’re not careful, so consider this your version of the *kinda chic* daily wordle. If you have any feedback, you can take it up with 20, Apocalypse Guns & Ammo.

In New Mexico the silence was loud.
Nothing but the neighbour dog barking, my heavy breathing (7000 ft is high!!) and the din of the Chama valley windstorm moving through the basin.

Red and green, my two fave colours (flavours) —New Mexico doesn’t make me choose.

Everything out there holds texture.
Adobe brick. Dusty roads.
Chimayo weavings.  Slate countertops cool beneath my hands.

Antler white. High desert light.
I love how even the plainest details are illuminated. 
Peregrine, electric green
Of new juniper
against all that dust.

I thought about death often.
Not dramatically— just the ordinary terror of loving people who live far away.

2025, you were a real sonofagun. You tested my spirit and broke me open for better and worse.

This year I found more footing in my new city and a new home with my love. New business, cool projects, long goodbyes, loud and quiet wins, stunning nature, absurdly good food, great music, incredible people — from Nashville to Ireland to Spain to NYC to my special stomping grounds of Alberta. 2025 was lowkey hard and so, so beautiful. I’m so grateful to all of you. I’m so lucky to be here. Onward!
