I felt it was time to reintroduce myself, I'm Maggie Meiners and I am a multi-disciplinary visual artist and accidental filmmaker. I've grown a lot over the last couple of years as a person and in my art practice. I process what is going on in the world through my art-- sometimes through repetitive and meditative practices like weaving and sewing, and sometimes through humor and provocation in filmmaking. I remain a dreamer, have big ideas for myself and my community and am also happy just being alive and healthy and connecting with others. Often I get frustrated with my art practice, or suffer from not thinking I am making enough art or doing enough, but at the end of the day, I will always continue with my creative practice in some form or another. I am grateful to be living the creative life I am living and the stories I can tell through my art-- it connects me to others and lets me know we are not that different. 💕 Check back here for new projects and glimpses into my studio. And if you really want to learn more about my work, you can go to the link in my bio. Photo by @evelinasnellportraits ⭐ by @maggiemeinersprojects

A tribute to Gloria Steinem- tremendous gratitude for her and the legacy she left us (SEE BELOW)- It’s up to us to protect what she has worked so hard for—a few examples: •having a credit card in my own name. •being protected from pregnancy discrimination. •playing sports at school. •calling sexual harassment what it is. •having domestic violence taken seriously. •Seeing women run for office. •making my own reproductive decisions. •being more than somebody’s wife. •Expecting (and demanding) an equal voice at work, at home and in government Forever grateful for this woman. #radwife #feminism by @maggiemeinersprojects
