![April X (feature, 2026) [I/III]
It’s been a long ride but now we are excited to share some stills from April X @aprilxmovie!
The film’s palette revolves around red and blue tones, leaning toward cyan in our case, which are signature colors in the director’s work. The Eastern European setting naturally brought in gray, desaturated tones, while the sci-fi, action, and thriller elements demanded greens and metallic hues. Look development was an exciting process and a close collaboration between the director, DoP, and colorist.
The film was shot on @arri Alexa 35 with @xelmusanamorphic lenses, and color grading was done in Resolve in ACES.

“For HAND, director @jenwinfilm wanted to create a tangible, vintage world with a timeless look for her body horror comedy film. After testing the Atlas Mercurys, it was immediately obvious that they were the perfect set of lenses to bring this film to life.
The Mercurys are full of so much funky, beautiful character. The image they produce feels organic and lively, perfectly suiting the visceral, lived-in world chock-full of grimy stains and bodily fluids that we aimed to create. They’re the perfect lenses to showcase the warmth and natural beauty of the Sonoran Desert.
