Heading to his kids’ sport on his own. Doing the shopping by himself. Grabbing a coffee without someone “sitting on his shoulder.”

For Pete Conroy, these everyday moments mean everything.

After a spinal cord injury at 48 and a year in hospital, Pete says losing his independence, and the social confidence that goes with it, was one of the hardest parts. His Magic 360 has helped him build both back.

Living semi-rural, Pete needed a chair that could handle grass, gravel, steep slopes and bumps, while still manoeuvring easily at home. The Magic 360 does both.

“It takes you to places you didn’t think you’d get to after your spinal cord injury.”

'The X8 gives me more independence in my fishing and outings. My support worker and I get into some pretty remarkable locations!'

Alvin recently reached out to us and shared how the Extreme X8 has allowed for exciting off-road adventures, and the key to maintaining the chair to keep the explorations coming.
'We venture out onto some muddy and wet mangrove beaches. After each beach venture I give the X8 a complete maintenance overhaul, lay the seat back, clean completely and spray with a salt neutralising and moisture dispersing spray. Been going now for about 5 years and still going strong!'.

My third time in my @magicmobility @allterrainwheelchairs Magic 360 powered wheelchair.

I decided to go on a day out to Bourton-on-the-Water for a real test.

The chair has four easy points to clip vehicle clamps too, being narrower it also made driving into my van much easier.

I reduced the pressure two main drive wheels before going out, as they are fitted with puncture proof tyre liners I felt safe doing this. With slightly lower pressures than the stock delivery values, the ride becomes smoother and reduces bumps further.

I kept the seat raised for almost my entire visit, giving me a much better view. There were no wobbles or tips, everything remained perfectly stable. I haven’t put the chair at full speed while raised yet, 4 was perfectly adequate for a walking pace.

P.S. - Always be careful when driving with the seat elevated. I weigh less than 8 stone so most of the center of gravity remains low to the ground due to the wheelchair batteries and motors still being close to the ground.

Got my wheelchair back with an upgrade. A scissor lift! 🙌😊

First stop was the greenhouse, so I could finally look down on my seedlings instead of up at them. Then I roasted my uncle’s bald spot, because now I can see it.

A new perspective from up here. Eye level is way better for chats, gardening, and hopefully a few drinks at the bar 🍻

Thanks @magicmobility, my X8 just got a little taller.

This Sunday I’ll be down at Castlemaine Farmers Market with @hungry_earth_agroecology selling our spring seedlings. Tomatoes, basil and more. Come say hi, I’ll be so much easy to spot 🌱

At this year's ATSA Expo, we invited student occupational therapists to get hands-on with our power wheelchairs - driving them over our test track, trying out the Magic Mobility range, and asking our team all about what chair to prescribe, why, and for whom.
The students had a chance to experience how it feels to maintain posture, support independence, and conserve energy for clients who fatigue easily when driving.
For the OTs of tomorrow, every chair they spend time in becomes part of their clinical toolkit. We offer hands on experience whenever we can, to both new and experienced occupational therapists, because better-informed OTs mean better outcomes for the people who rely on equipment every day.
Thank you to every student who got involved, asked great questions, and gave the chairs a real workout. We loved having you.

Second test of my @magicmobility @allterrainwheelchairs Magic 360. Trying out recline with the ventilator tray, which keeps my ventilators safe and adjusts when tilting or reclining. The C-Me seat riser allows driving at walking speed while the wheelchair is raised. Each castor wheel has independent suspension, keeping all wheels firmly on the ground even when raised. The ride felt completely safe, getting used to driving at eye level with other humans is going to take a while though. taken in Hatherley Park by @magicmobility
