I can’t believe they are almost done. We may need a couple folks to help paint/clean/organize/move things! The front of the store will become retail pottery again! The middle supplies, the back workshops and member space! We love our local art center and don’t want to have any classes that compete, because they are so cool and nailing it! But maybe one or two special workshops a month! by @magpieartsllc

Edit: all sold! Thank you all so much!! Okay. Here’s the damage! These guys have micro bloating of the clay at the glaze line. Would I use them, absolutely! Would I sell them. No. But I can’t throw them away! So I am offering, DM me with which one you would like and shoot me a price you are willing to pay for a defective mug that just will never be as sturdy as it would if it didn’t bloat! Originally we were going to sell them for $75. I just want them to go to a home that will love their warts 🤣🤣🤣 by @magpieartsllc

Update: I peaked! It looks like the kiln is fine. Pottery is likely a loss, kiln shelves look salvagable. A moment of clarity. It’s been a rough week. I haven’t felt well because of an invisible illness and the world has to continue on. I accidentally over fired the kiln by HOURS. I never do these things. 300 firings and 2 kilns in the last 2 years of care and careful. It had ALL the coolest black mugs, ALL of the pumpkin mugs, flower mugs, butterfly mugs and several experimental pieces. I took a break from production to make some fun pieces for a few weeks and they are all gone. Hoping the kiln survives. by @magpieartsllc

In this series I challenge my friend Beasley and myself to make increasingly ridiculous pottery tasks and then seeing if we can actually pull them off.

For this one, we’re making a pumpkin casserole dish. Brett handled the form, and now I’m sculpting the stem and leaves to bring the whole thing together.

Next up: spider bowls. Obviously.

Give us a follow to see how the finished pumpkin casserole turns out, and check out our next challenge! #Fall #soupseason #potteryofinstagram #clemsonsc #pumpkin by @magpieartsllc
