New pieces just dropped!!

For this body of work I explored the ways creation and the color compliments I find in nature inspire my work!

For my vases I sourced inspiration from the color palette of figs and abstracted shape and form to create this series!

For my sculpture I sourced inspiration from the color compliments found in the icy waters and volcanic rock in Iceland!

When Holli at @sevenoaksplants requested espresso cups with saucers, I was happy to oblige. I also thought it was the perfect time to try @newmexicoclay ChoCoLate, recommended to me by and purchased from @magpieartsllc in Clemson, SC, and I was not at all sad about that decision. The clay is so smooth and rich. It is aptly named for the color and how delicious it looks (don’t eat the clay, kids). This set was glazed with @coyoteclayandcolor Azure Dream, and dreamy it is! Fired to cone 6 for my fellow potters and ceramicists who may be wondering. This set will be available for purchase at @sevenoaksplants the week of September 21, when I drop this off along with some other new goodies (including Christmas ornaments that I have been busy making). They will be in the gift shop, which is in the building next door to the plant shop and greenhouses. P.S. They have a holiday season open house #wheelthrown #handmadepottery #pottery on October 5. You won’t want to miss it.

Progress. Now she rests until she’s ready for the bisque fire. Another huge thank you to Kimberly at @magpieartsllc in Clemson, SC for turning me onto @rockymountainclay @midlandsclayart #wheelthrownandaltered #aspen #porcelain

I haven’t had much time to really play in the studio lately and explore the million ideas floating around in my head, but I had so much fun with this piece last night, which is not yet finished. Kimberly at @magpieartsllc in Clemson,SC, gave me a bag of this beautiful @rockymountainclay Aspen porcelain to try when I was there buying clay back in December. I have been saving it, and I am so glad I finally tried it. It throws like a dream, and it is lovely hand build with. I have no idea how it will fire, but call me obsessed so far. Work in progress💖 I’ve already broken the number 1 rule of pottery and have gotten attached. It’s way too soon but I couldn’t help myself🤷‍♀️. Now I just need to figure out how to finish the base.

Testing out a new clay I picked up on a recent trip to @magpieartsllc in Clemson SC. Finally made it there after @amydoespottery recommendation and will definitely be back!
