Rim to River 100 @rimtoriver 🌳🍂💛 this past weekend I had the privilege of pacing & crewing @gabriellaanichole for her first 100 mile race finish. I am unbelievably proud of her. I’m so grateful that she trusted me to help her reach this goal both during the race and over the course of the past few months as we trained our butts off together. Watching her cross the finish line yesterday made all of the Saturday 5am wake up calls and climbs up Wolfinger, Misery, Joy & Mother worth it. Find friends who inspire you, support you and make life better. Until next time! Team GabMag forever taken in New River Gorge National Park by @magrehlinger

One of the things I love about running is that it doesn't always have to be about going faster. In my conversation with ultrarunner Maggie Grehlinger, we talked about what drew her to the trails and ultra running community.

She said that the longer distances actually force her to slow down. The trail makes you pay attention to your surroundings, to the people around you, to the place you're moving through, and perhaps most importantly, to your own body.

Maggie @magrehlinger described her ultra running less as a quest to do “the next hardest thing” and more as an adventure.

I love this perspective. In becoming laser focused on pace, mileage, PRs, and always worrying about the next finish line, we often forget to notice where we actually are.

May this be an invitation for your next run, to slow down enough to Experience it.

Many of the women I work with, including women physicians, are incredibly good at pushing through.

Busy day or tired? Push through.

Training plan says run? Run.

Body says rest? Maybe tomorrow.

When I sat down with ultrarunner Maggie Grehlinger, I wanted to talk through how we know when we're challenging ourselves in a healthy way versus simply overriding what our bodies are telling us.

Maggie @magrehlinger is a school-based occupational therapist and adaptive fitness coach who works with neurodivergent individuals and believes in healing through movement. I loved how honest she was about the fact that listening to your body isn't something you simply master.

If you're a runner, an aspiring runner, or simply someone who is trying to build a healthier relationship with movement, I think you'll get a lot out of this conversation.

Not every run has to make you feel better.

Sometimes you head out for a run because you're sad, frustrated, overwhelmed, or just having one of those days.

I want to offer that you don't need to outrun the feeling.

In this week's episode of the Mindful Marathon Podcast, ultrarunner Maggie Grehlinger @magrehlinger shared a simple practice that has helped her use running as a healing outlet which is, let yourself be sad.

Instead of putting on an upbeat playlist and trying to force yourself into a better mood, Maggie sometimes chooses her “soul-crushing playlist” and lets herself feel whatever is there.

I love this, and it absolutely resonates. I process many of my feelings while running and. have been known to cry on the trail.

We are not always running to escape, but rather, to be with ourselves in that moment.

You can show up exactly as you are and that can be where healing happens.

Women In Ultrarunning was asking the hard hitting questions at Wild Goose this weekend 🤔🧠💭

According to this reel @michelleobama @christinaroseee @sloggingtosweets @rachel_lynn07 @magrehlinger @aryn.i ‘s mom & @courtneydauwalter may be the only women in the world? But we know that’s not true because we saw so many more amazing women crushing ultramarathons, pacing, crewing, volunteering, mothering & so much more this weekend!

Thank you @sassquadtrailrunning for hosting another amazing Wild Goose weekend!

Wild Goose Trail Festival 2026 with @sassquadtrailrunning - @womeninultrarunning tent & night time pacing edition🪿 swipe for my experience ✨

spent Saturday making new friends at the @womeninultrarunning tent - thanks to everyone who helped / supported us / hung out! 🩷

while I was doing that my iconic friend @christinaroseee ran 50 miles ✨

the sun set & now it’s time to get on the trails to pace 👀

18 mile night run with Benny during his 36 hour race! he finished 50+ miles for his first ultra at 14 years old. I think he is the coolest 14 year old that I know!

on Sunday @victoryyadams crushed her 50k & placed & PR’d despite struggling to sleep in her tent the night before 😳

& @instaleighryan crushed that muddy rainy 50k too! first official 50k on the books & a huge training run for @rimtoriver

my friends helped me continue running the @womeninultrarunning tent until Sunday evening & even fed me their finisher pizza 🥹🩷 (we clearly need sleep at this point)

in conclusion I had the bestest weekend I love my friends I love women in ultrarunning Benny is an icon and we all love Wild Goose Trail Festival weekend! taken in Ringwood State Park by @magrehlinger
