when asked how this race went, I said the outcome was good but the process was a struggle! I finished my first 50 Mile race as third female overall in 9:45:12. 🌠
these photos do not accurately display the amount of GI turmoil my body dealt unto me for like, half of this race, 😓 but once again, pepto-bismol is my hero and I could comfortably run the last 16 or so miles feeling STRONG and HAPPY!
enjoy my emoji story telling-
☺️The start of the race felt pretty good & I thought “wow!! You are doing the race you’ve been looking forward to and working toward for MONTHS! Better treasure this day because it’ll be over before you know it” 🌈🤩

and then after 2.5 hours I could not imagine finishing the race 🤢 But I imagined how disappointed I’d be if I couldn’t finish. I just felt nauseous and full in a way I hadn’t on any training run and it was bumming me out! 😩

Ultimately after 3 pepto tablets over 4ish hours, I resumed my @toothandclawpodcast episodes and was able to focus on that as the miles racked up. 🙂‍↕️
the last 14 miles (which I said it’s ONLY 14 miles lol) I went harder and felt proud of sticking it out, a little sad that I couldn’t access that strength earlier in the race (sometimes your stomach doesn’t want to cooperate and you can’t control that so you can’t be hard on yourself about it), and wanted to finish this objectively beautiful day with a smile on my face! Achieved!

Last weekend our PA Chapter had the absolute delight of hosting an aid station at @easternstates100!! It was our second year running “Chateau De La Rue Ritchie”, a fine dining establishment for even finer ultrarunners, and we had a BLAST!

Huge thank you to our volunteers for your time, energy, and care. And congrats to everyone who toed the line, and thank you to Eastern States for having us back!

Ever go on a long run and the only thing that can bring you back to life is an unhinged haul of recovery goods from Wawa? Us too! Which is why we’re giving you the opportunity to join us on a Wawa 50k, with stops at six different Wawas, challenges along the way, and prizes to who we’re dubbing the top “silly goose” in female, male, and non-binary categories. Come for the place we all know and love for any pre-, post-, or mid-run fuel, stay for the whimsy that’s sure to be had with friends in the running community.

All the deets you need: Join us on Saturday 9/26 with a 7AM start time at the SRT parking lot in East Falls. This event is open to ALL across the gender spectrum! Registration is FREE, with a suggested donation to our nonprofit. Hop on over to the link in our bio to register and learn more!
