Back when I dressed up as Mao in Anyuan for Halloween. Thanks @aniluap.jpg for the memory. I was wearing my great-grandfather’s long robe, which was way too tight for me. Note the unbuttoned slit. by @mahbilly

Great to see/hang with Matt in NYC for the day and visit the ethereal installation at the @parkavearmory with the unfortunate named “clinamen” by the artist Céleste Boursier-Mougenot. Though celebrating the auditorial materiality of porcelain is nothing new for scholars of porcelain, nor the motifs of the full moon, reflective pools, or flowing bowls for East Asianists. taken in Park Avenue Armory by @mahbilly

Last night looking at Instagram I came upon an ad for a Martin Wong show at the Wrightwood 659, a museum I have never heard of. I went without much expectation. It was such a revelation! It’s basically the first major Matin Wong show, which includes his Chinatown paintings, sketches, collected objects, ceramics, etc. Absolutely eye-opening. The museum is also an incredible space and they have the best guards/docents. taken in Wrightwood 659 by @mahbilly
