Today would have been my dad’s 73rd birthday. Our first without him. To remember him, I decorated for Halloween, which he always loved. He made the tombstones for our front yard and a coffin he got inside to give out the candy. Some kids got so scared, they threw candy back at him. He loved it. And I love it because of him. For anyone who knows me, you know of my love for all things Muppets/Jim Henson related. Today I got to check an item off my bucket list I didn’t even know I had…

Today, Fraggle and I got to meet a real life Fraggle! Dave Goelz, a longtime Muppeteer who played Gonzo, Waldorf, and Bunson Honeydew (to name a few), came to Beauty and the Beast today in San Francisco and he was one of the loveliest humans I have ever met in my life.

He loved Fraggle (of course…) and loved that she was named after a piece of his work. That something he helped create inspired me enough to name my child after them.

We talked about Muppet Christmas Carol, and how he can’t watch it without crying because of how special it is to him.

We talked about Emmett Otter and how that was one of his favorite projects.

We talked about the love of creating and giving a piece of our hearts into what we do and why that makes what we do so special.

Today was a day I will NEVER forget.

Last week I was on the island of Oahu and it was everything I had hoped and wanted it to be. I had been wanting to make a trip to Hawaii for YEARS and always thought that I should wait until I had someone special to share it with. Well, this past year taught me that life is short and I shouldn’t wait to enjoy experiences. Live your life. It’s hard to believe, but we just celebrated our one year anniversary with @beautymusical It has been a year with the highest highs professionally and the lowest lows personally. But through it all I have had @fragglethepup to snuggle against her will, and the AMAZING @itsaaron5 to keep me laughing and sane. I couldn’t have done this without you!!.
