Beginning a new school year with our Daffodil early childhood class. I am deeply grateful that I get to teach at our Waldorf Honeycomb Cottage School again with my dear friend @studio_brynne. This year we are in a new home, and it was such a surprise that when I came to check out the space for the first time, I realized I knew the home owner, and she is actually a very dear friend. She was my neighbor the first half of my life and was like a second mom to me and my siblings. We stood there on her porch hugging and reconnecting and it was such a beautiful moment. I love the coziness and warmth of this space, the way the light shines through the pink curtains, the cozy sheepskins in front of the fireplace, the tiny slipper pairs circling the rug, the fairies hanging from the ceiling, Mother Mary blessing us from the mantle… We always begin every year with the sunflower bridge ceremony where each child crosses a bridge and is received by their teacher and given a sunflower. We sing the song “I behold you” by Angel Wash. We put all the sunflowers in a vase the first day and bring into our class. We are continuing our Wednesday morning bread baking tradition, and if you look carefully at the second photo you can see the flour piles on the tables! taken in Lehi, Utah by @maidentomother

When friends respond to spontaneous dinner invites and picnic in the grass with you and end the day in the river. Love you Gabs and Tom and your littles!! I met Gabby through my Village Prenatal group when she was a maiden, was her birth doula with her first when I was 8 weeks pregnant with Callan and her postpartum doula with her most recent baby a year ago. I love all the dear women I have met through my work and how many have become dear friends and soul sisters. Found this river spot with @solringen.community earlier this summer and have sung here a couple times this summer and it’s so beautiful! My kids all had a blast too and got nice and muddy before driving home. Loving me every drop of summer☀️ taken in Dry Creek Park-Lehi by @maidentomother

Oh how I love these women. Last night we sat by the river under the full moon, donned white dresses and homemade flower crowns, and took time to journal and share intentions from the heart. So grateful for safe spaces and safe women in my life. For flickering candles at night. For new songs. And always for cold river water. And for just being and feeling alive. I can’t believe July is almost through. Loving every minute of these summer days. by @maidentomother

I have read all of Mary Oliver’s works on Kindle but two months ago I bought a hard copy of “Devotions” and the first day I picked a small rose and pressed it on my favorite poem. There’s something about holding an actual book and two months later having a dried leaf crumble off and fall into your lap. So many good ones in here. by @maidentomother
