I did something scary Monday night. In fact, I have been doing many things that scare me lately.

Not from a dangerous perspective, but from a deep soul need and calling, that to my conscious, ego mind are perceived as scary.

Something expansive happens when we invite the fear along. For me, it dissipates over time as I follow the path I’m being called to travel down more deeply.

Monday evening, I opened myself up to receiving nurturing and healing facilitated by a sister in this incredible community, as part of my practicum to completing my training in the sacred practice of Closing of The Bones ceremony.

The act of asking and receiving from others, especially women, is something that is not easy for me, it’s uncomfortable, but I am leaning into it more because not only do I need it, I crave it.
And as this work and motherhood continues to show me, receiving is absolutely needed in order to give. what a concept?! 😉

I have SO much I want to say and share about this practice and my experience.

But for now, as I integrate, I will express my deep gratitude to Heidi for holding space and offering this ceremony for me, as I reclaim fragmented parts of myself, come home even more to this precious vessel that is my body and continue to be receptive to everything that is meant for me in this life. All so that I may in turn share my offerings from an even deeper, more aligned place in my heart🤲🏻✨

Made some more of these pregnancy teas today✨

Nourish Mama Tea: Nettles, Oatstraw, red raspberry leaf, alfalfa, lemon balm, chamomile, rosehip.

Heartburn Tea: Red raspberry leaf, chamomile, lemon balm, marshmallow root, spearmint.

Morning Wellness Tea: Spearmint, lemon balm, ginger, orange peel, peppermint.

It’s been over four years since you were born. Dearest one, you showed me the breaks and the cracks so that I could heal and become whole. Your birth showed me death and darkness and incredible light and rebirth. Being your mother gave me visions and clarity and insight. Your birth gave me spirit and words and remembrance. Deep remembrance of our ancestors, of our family, of the need for community. This journey has been a journey to the center, a journey to self, a journey to spirit. Together we have remembered our humanness and our oneness. Over four years of heart to heart connection, of nourishing you with my milk, of looking into your wise eyes. Nothing about this journey has been easy, but here we are gradually separating, co-existing, defining ourselves, mother and daughter.

Creating in bursts. Small batch of herbal oil. This one made with the intention of nourishing and connecting with the womb and during pregnancy and loving on the breasts after birth when the milk comes in. So sweet and earthy smelling and I love the way the herbs and flowers look suspended in the oil before straining.

I love that I get to work with herbs every week. Making teas, herbal oils, tinctures, and other blends. I love the way they smell, sound, and feel. Grateful for my plant allies 🌿

One of my favorite ways to serve women and mothers during pregnancy and postpartum is by soaking their feet in epsom salt and herbs or simply rubbing the feet with oil while they rest on the couch and chat or nurse their baby. The feet carry so much, they walk so many places, and they ground us on this earth. Excited to now offer an herbal foot soak in my shop!

I made another small batch of this healing salve this morning. Mama & Baby salve used for healing the skin. I love mornings where my home smells of herbs and sweet beeswax!

I love making and selling these products and seeing them in your homes. So much love and intention goes into every one of these items. You are welcome here ✨ I want to take a moment to introduce myself and say hi to new followers. My name is Heidi, and I’m glad you are here. I share a lot about birth and motherhood in this space and my love for life, family, community, and earth. I am a mother of daughters— my own journey from maiden to mother inspired my path to birth work and living life more deeply and intentionally. I support mothers through pregnancy and birth as a doula and provide nurturing mother-centered care postpartum. I find meaning in life by slowing down and resting in the mystery of it all. So often I am filled with awe and wonder. I love being a witness. Listening to so many stories. Watching leaves change color. Gathering flowers. Singing songs. Jumping in cold water. Reading a good book. I love this life that I live and that I have found people and work that add so much meaning. Thank you for being here!
