Angela Bassett walked onto that carpet in hot pink Prabal Gurung. Gown, pink. Makeup , pink. Lips , pink. Eyes, pink. On a carpet full of beige and stone and marble, she walked out in full magenta and gave the room exactly what it needed. No compromise. No hedge. Total commitment to the idea. So the plate I designed for this look has no green, no neutral, no relief colour of any kind. Beetroot three ways. Hibiscus-cured salmon. Raspberry reduction. Pink peppercorn crème fraîche, and a Tapioca Pearl raspberry & hibiscus tuile. Everything is a different shade of the same intention.
In fine dining, this level of colour focus is one of the hardest things to execute, because every instinct tells you to add a, a neutral, something to break the tension. Angela Bassett never broke the tension. Neither does this plate.

Which 2026 met gala fine dining look would you sit in front of?

The Matriarch of our family parted with us from this plane today.

When I journeyed into yachting I made the choice mostly because I wanted to work a few months so I could maximize the time I could get to spend with you. You were the absolute love of my life, and some of my best memories have been with you.

I'm grateful I got to come home and take care of you like I had promised. I'm grateful for the love, life lessons, and hilarious convos and comments throughout these years. These past 3 months were tough, and Have left me in awe of what the human body is capable of going through at 97. Your strength, independence, gratitude, unwavering faith in god ( even though I kept wondering where he was) and compassion for the less fortunate around you, even though you were ill yourself will forever be an inspiration to me.

Those who know you knew that if your body was as strong and as sharp as your mind was you would have lived for many more years to come. I still can't believe you still knew " the solitude of Alexander Selkirk" off by heart.😩

I love you forever ever koko ❤️
And while you're no longer with us on this plane I know you're free of the suffering and are reunited with the loved ones you've been so eager to be reunited with. RIP.

No point in crying over spilt coffee, or ruminating
Over whose fault it is. Plans change, but the vision remains the same .
Excited to share this next with you 🤍

1st course, We’ll begin with “The Veil” . Heidi Klum transformed herself into a living marble statue, inspired by the Veiled Vestal sculpture by Raffaele Monti. Her longtime collaborator Mike Marino painted her entire body , face, hands, & feet, to appear carved from stone.

Cauliflower velouté beneath a stone-veil filo tuile , lifted at the table. The evening begins with illusion and revelation.

Which of these five plates would you want to sit in front of? And which 2026 Met Gala look do you think I should translate next?
