This grief is an anvil squeezed snugly between my ribs, pressing my lungs outward, easily tabling the heat of my breath My heart clangs rhythmically, iron on iron; ringing in my ears, but just out of focus My stomach is flattened and reshaped by the heat and the pressure As the new iron cools into its final form, my body gets heavier to carry My throat opens, to let some steam go But nothing satisfying comes out by @mak35hift

It’s been kinda hard to create because of all the horrific suffering going on in the world but somehow art still finds all our secret escape hatches Here’s a little snippet from something I wrote that brings me back to my center when I feel like I’m at wits end, hopefully it makes you feel something too: … When I lean back and press my hands into the sun soaked cement, I’m recollecting the loving energy of source used to carry this grief When I push my shoulders back and let them offset the weight of my front, I’m putting less stress on the whole of me When I turn my gaze from the ground at my feet toward the infinite sky, I equalize the weight of responsibility with the relief of being small Having been taught to give myself these small graces and more, I’ve learned how to firmly demand my needs, all while evading war Both internal and external A blinding infinity at our core by @mak35hift
