The candidate town hall starts at 6 p.m. at The HUB for Community Innovation and is free and open to the public.

Aiken County deputy remains in stable condition tonight after being shot following a brief chase. The female suspect involved in the shooting has died.

People outside Wellstar MCG Medical Center described seeing officers lined up around the hospital and surrounding an ambulance as the deputy and suspect were brought to Augusta.

SLED has taken over the investigation.

BREAKING: A suspect has died and an Aiken County deputy is in stable condition following a deputy-involved shooting off Powell Pond Road.

Investigators say the incident began with a hit-and-run call before leading to a brief chase. Authorities say the female suspect got out of the vehicle and fired at deputies, striking one deputy in the lower extremity. Deputies returned fire.

The suspect was transported to an Augusta hospital, where she later died. SLED has now taken over the investigation.

Even though I never had the chance to know Melissa Domingo or her mother, Elizabeth, their story is one that stays with you. Domestic violence touches so many lives in some way, shape or form — families, friends and entire communities.

Today, I spoke with Melissa’s brother, Anthony Domingo. One year after Melissa and Elizabeth were killed, their family is still searching for answers while making sure the women they loved are remembered for more than what happened to them.

I also had the opportunity to stop by Melissa’s memorial today and pay my respects. ❤️

Tonight at 11 on NewsChannel 6, we’re digging deeper into this case, where it stands one year later, and most importantly, honoring Melissa’s memory.

BREAKING NEWS: I’m live on the scene near Tybee Court and Lovers Lane, where the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect accused of opening fire on deputies.

Deputies returned fire before the suspect ran from the scene. Investigators say he may be injured. No deputies were hurt.

I made this video on Monday, but I’m sharing it today because the last public meeting is TODAY at the Warren Road Community Center starting at 6 p.m.

If you would like to share your input on Augusta’s proposed data center ordinance, today is your final opportunity to do so in person.

The city is gathering feedback on everything from water usage and utility impacts to noise, setbacks and where data centers could be built.

I’ve been following the data center conversation across our area, and I’ll continue keeping you updated as Augusta works toward a final ordinance.

Days like today remind me why I’m so proud to be a journalist.❤️

Today was definitely one for the books! I somehow made a detour that turned into a TWO-HOUR drive😭, rushed back to get on set for my live shot, and STILL made it happen in time to get this story on air! TV news will definitely keep you on your toes. 😂

But one of the highlights of the night was getting to meet and interview @803freshsc — AKA Mr. “Boots on the Ground!” 👢🔥 I was SO excited! He came back to his alma mater, Wagener-Salley, as the community said goodbye to its longtime football field and prepared for a new chapter.

The long drives, the rushing, the pressure, the unexpected moments… and then seeing the finished story make air? Worth it. 🥹

Days like this are the days I’m reminded just how much I love what I do. 🎥🎤✨
