SENIOR CHOREOGRAPHER SPOTLIGHT
⭐️MAKAYLA MICHEO⭐️

Makayla Micheo is a senior currently getting her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography alongside studies in Design and Production with a focus in Scenic Painting. She holds the Community Council student representative position in the School of Dance and is the student representative for Hip Hop Club. After graduating, she would like to focus on dancing
professionally in the circus. Her dream is to choreograph professionally and one day own a
company alongside holding a director position at a cultural arts center where she will create safe
environments for dancers and artists of all kinds to gather and create art in a safe community. In her spare time, she enjoys participating in community theatre behind the scenes and on stage and has done aerial silks for over 9 years.

Makayla’s piece titled “ROXY!” is inspired by a woman she met working at her summer job in a bookstore. Roxy would come in and entertain Makayla with wide ranging conversations and improvised piano that Roxy would play on the stores public piano. The piece starts with an improvised piano recording from the day Roxy and Makayla met. Come see Senior Chor and meet Roxy through movement, music, and words.

Come out and support Makayla’s unique and quirky dance work this Saturday December 13th at 4 and 8 pm and Sunday December 14th at 12 and 4 pm in the Archie Burnette Studio Theatre!👠🔥 by @makdancess

this is the last dance video i will post from my beautiful college home. this house has held many memories, good and bad. it has watched me grow into a better version of myself and kept me safe the first night sleeping by myself. big thank you to all my friends who made this house a home and were able to feel it’s comfort alongside me.
